The event first debuted in January 2017 for the Diablo 1 20th Anniversary and has been deemed an annual event. One of the biggest pieces of news is that the alpha is expected to launch by the end of Q1 2018. The team has plans to restrict the publication of media with regard to testing. This includes screenshots, videos or streams during the testing period. While players can discuss their experiences, the media embargo will be enforced. Called "Gods of Mars", the information leaked via the PlayStation Store earlier this year, though it was quickly buried, with the target release said to be "spring 2018". As the name reminds us, the action will be taking place on Mars, something that has been hinted at in game.
