and all Texans struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic. [ {NAME} -- I know that after months of dealing with the new reality created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas families are feeling a lot of fear, uncertainty, and anger. As a mother and Texan, I’m fiercely protective of the safety of our families and communities. And as a combat veteran, I have my eye on our mission: protecting folks from the continuing spread of this disease and the devastating economic fallout. My service in the military taught me that when the unexpected hits, it’s critical to stay focused on solutions. That’s why I kicked off my Texas Tough Tour talking to frontline health care workers and Texans who are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. They are heroes, and their stories and experiences have helped shape my platform. [ I’ve seen first-hand that health care costs are out of control, and I firmly believe that every American has the right to quality, affordable health care. That’s part of the reason why I’m running for Senate -- we need a senator who prioritizes health care, especially right now. Senator Cornyn doesn't. Why? You have to follow the money. He cares about protecting the bottom lines of his corporate PAC donors, not the health and well-being of folks like you. That's why he voted to gut protections for millions of Texans with pre-existing conditions and allow insurance companies to charge older Texans more for coverage. Sen. Cornyn led the charge against the Affordable Care Act and voted to repeal it twenty times. Now he’s standing by as his allies try to dismantle it in court -- in the midst of a pandemic. And this part makes me absolutely outraged: as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, he knew how bad the COVID-19 pandemic would be and played it down, wasting crucial time he could have been spending trying to protect Texans. As your senator, I won’t cower to the special interests -- I don’t take any money from corporate PACs. I will fight to make Medicare available to all who want it, lower prescription drug costs, protect people with pre-existing conditions -- and I’ll never let insurance companies call the shots. If you're ready to get on board, now is the time. [Please donate what you can to give us the resources we need to defeat Sen. Cornyn and stop allowing him to put Texans’ health care at risk.](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Express donate $5 >>](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) [Express donate $10 >>](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) [Express donate $25 >>](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) [Express donate $50 >>](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) [Or, donate a different amount >>](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) Our health care is on the ballot this November, and unlike Sen. Cornyn, I’m committed to fighting to ensure every Texan has access to affordable, quality health care. -- MJ [DONATE](3D%3D/?g=MNrHV1H8x8VeT4BFmx2k-NA) It's clear we need a real leader for Texas and a Senate that prioritizes our health care.
