Here’s one of Lisa’s best techniques… But it does require a lot of guts to do. As part of Lisa Nichols’ brand NEW Masterclass on [4]([Secrets to Speak & Inspire](, we’ve been sharing micro-slices of content from this incredible teacher to help you master the art of powerful storytelling. So far, you’ve learned... - How to SHOW your story to draw your audiences in and, - How to Speak with CONVICTION to get people to rally behind your vision Today, I want to share Lisa’s trademark technique that will help you “unpack your story” so you not only captivate your audience but also deeply connect with them. Why is this important? Well, being able to really bond with someone is the difference between an informative speaker... …. and an unforgettable speaker that gains the respect and loyalty of their audience. The technique is called The Valley Journey. And it can be summarized by the simple diagram below So what does this diagram mean? Let’s start at point A. Lisa explains this as the “Big Me, My Bio” portion. This is where you share your accomplishments, your accolades, and the “successful you” you are today. It’s straightforward but it’s what sets the tone of your story. Then we move on to point B. This is the “All-Time Low.” For many of us, this part will take some serious guts to do. But if you do this right… … It’s where the real magic happens. This is where you share your darkest moments. The moments where you hit rock bottom. Or as Lisa puts it, “it’s where you take me to, so I see your humanity.” Remember Lisa’s “broke and broken” story I shared at the start of the week? About how she had less than $11 in her bank account and couldn’t even afford diapers for her 8-month old baby? That’s one of Lisa’s “All-Time Low” moments. Like I said, this does take courage to do… No matter what your “All-Time Low” may be (and we all have many of these moments scattered throughout lives). But this is the reason why Lisa is such an unforgettable speaker, and has a legion of loyal fans worldwide. It’s why she got 9,782 people mailing her after her very first appearance on Oprah. It’s why her interview on The Steve Harvey Show has gotten over 40+ MILLION views online. Now there are a few caveats to how you use the “All-Time Low” in your stories, and it has to with the context of the conversation you’re having with your audience, which Lisa covers in more detail in her [free Masterclass](. And finally, there’s point C. “Inspiration” It’s the finale that ties your entire story together. And it’s what transforms a good story, into a story that leaves your audience more inspired than before they met you. If you want to get people to rally behind your personal vision, whether it’s a cause you stand for, an idea you want to bring to your company, or a new business plan you’re sharing to potential investors… … Knowing how to get to point C is crucial. In [our Masterclass](, Lisa goes really deep into The Valley Journey. But what I didn’t expect was how she demonstrated this technique on camera. She shared a story I had never heard her talk about before even though I’ve known Lisa for the last seven years. Her “8 Pills” story was one of the most heartfelt moments we’ve ever captured on a Mindvalley Masterclass. And it left both of us, and our film crew in tears. If for anything at all, I encourage you to [watch this Masterclass]( just to hear this beautiful story.
