[6 SITES FOR FINDING HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN GIGS ]( Is it possible to find good clients even if you aren't well known? Yes. But remember, the best clients aren't looking for generic designers... they're looking for a designer with a niche skill set that solves a very specific problem they have. These clients are less likely to post on generic sites, and more likely to choose niche-specific options for posting their jobs. These high-quality clients will also be tapping into their networks before blasting job opportunities all over the internet, so make sure to build genuine relationships with your dream clients even if you're not ready to work together yet. With that being said, here are a few reputable websites for freelance designers looking for work: - [Behance](

- [Krop]( [mighty deals]( Are there BAD sites for freelancers looking for gigs?
That depends on who you're speaking to. In short, I've met people who are successful on almost every freelance gig platform. But keep in mind that your best chance won't be on generic websites known for low-priced work. Most of these sites have thousands of people competing for each gig (most of them willing to charge much less than you are). So if you're looking to scale your business and land higher-quality clients, I'd suggest avoiding these sites: ⢠[Fiverr]( ⢠[Upwork]( ⢠[Freelancer.com]( (Disclaimer: If these sites are working for you, AWESOME. No need to stop if you've got a good thing going. But more on that later.) [HOW TO FIND HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN WORK ]( Everyone's design career is different, so what should YOU do? I'll admit, I'm not a designer... But I am a freelancer, so I have a few thoughts on how to find great gigs and avoid crappy ones. First, remember that your freelancer journey doesn't have to look like everyone else's. If everyone talks bad about Upwork but it works for you, stick to it and ignore the haters! Second, remember that what works at the beginning of your freelance journey may not work when you're a higher-level designer. Allow yourself to adapt! Third, pay attention to your time. Focus on gigs that grow your skill and help you make more money with less time. Leave time to prospect and build your business. Fourth, tap into your network and remember it's your most valuable resource as a freelancer. A crowd of happy customers will be the best way to stay fully booked and start making more money with less time. Fifth, keep your portfolio up to date! The above tips are my personal recommendations, [but here's an article with more in-depth ideas for landing your ideal freelance clients.]( You're welcome. ð [FEATURED DESIGNER] Putra Novembria from Putra Cetol Design Studio. ð£ï¸ How did you get into graphic design/app & software development/typography? I know digital design and entered the design world in 2013. At that time I read a review in a public online forum about a marketplace site that can sell digital products online and earn dollar commissions from sales. I was immediately intrigued and found out more details. Because at that time I had just graduated from college and really needed a job. After that I started to learn about design and how to use graphic software (at that time I used CorelDraw). I learned self-taught design, because there is no basic design at all. Because | graduated from the programming department and at that time finding a job with a basic programmer was very difficult. I was looking for design tutorials from the internet/youtube. Little by little my skills honed there. ð¨ How would you describe your design process? In making a font our team needs about 1-2 weeks for 1 font. It depends on the style and category of the font to be created as well. We do some research before deciding what font to make. We look for font styles that the market needs, and also create fonts according to the event or season that is happening. Our initial process is to create a list or determine the font style that we will create. For example like this, fonts for food products / fonts for weddings / script fonts that have many alternative character choices, etc. After that we make a rough sketch / base of the font on paper or ipad. The rough sketch contains the basic characters and the form of the style to be created. After the rough sketch is finished, the sketch will be traced back in the graphics software to be converted into vector. We also sometimes use direct tracing if the font made is writing/scraping directly from the hand. After that it is entered into the font processing software. The final stage is to make a preview and then sell it. ð What is a fun fact about yourself? I am afraid of heights and really like chocolate and I can sleep very quickly, in just a few minutes, even seconds I can fall asleep immediately. ð§ What is most challenging about your line of work? The challenging thing is when we do research in creating or looking for font styles to be made, we often get stuck and stuck in finding ideas. Because we don't just make fonts and sell them just like that, we try to make fonts that are better and can compete with existing fonts. We make the fonts that the market needs, the fonts that all buyers need. We also try to make fonts that are out of the box as well, for example we prefer to make fonts with display styles. Because the display font is more different and more able to show the characteristics of the font. ð¤ What can we expect from you next?
We will make more attractive and complete fonts, create fonts with various styles and create fonts that everyone needs. So the next time someone needs a font for their business, they'll immediately remember us and search our collection. â Coffee or tea (or what is your go-to drink)? I choose hot chocolate. :D Top Deals from PutraCetol Design Studio on Mighty Deals: - [Complete Style Font Bundle]( [mighty deals]( - [Massive Crafting Font Bundle]( [mighty deals]( [MEME OF THE WEEK]( See you next week!
