Hi friend - If you haven't already, I hope you'll take a moment today to read my message below about my commitment to protecting our Great Lakes. I've lived in Michigan my whole life. I understand just how important the Great Lakes are to our economy, environment, and our way of life. [Before the summer ends, will you join me in supporting our Great Lakes by signing my petition today?]( Through the years we've made incredible progress together, but we must stay united to ensure our Great Lakes stay vibrant and beautiful for generations to come. I'll never stop fighting and I'm grateful to have you by my side. Thanks, Debbie ------FWD------- Friend, here’s something you might not know about me – one of the very first bills I passed into law as Michigan’s Senator was a ban on oil and gas drilling in the Great Lakes. As a lifelong Michigander, protecting the Great Lakes was one of my first priorities because I know, firsthand, how central they are to our economy and our Michigan way of life. [Friend, protecting the Great Lakes has been the fight of my life. But our work is far from over. The Great Lakes face new daily threats, from climate change to invasive species. That’s why I am urging you to join me in signing a petition to protect the Great Lakes today.]( [Take Action]( Taking action works. With your input and support, in 2010 I authored the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. The law has been a critical funding source for cleaning up our lakes and waterways. Keeping the program funded hasn’t always been easy. When the Trump administration gutted funding for the program, you stood behind me and joined me in taking action. When all was said and done, I led a bipartisan coalition to get every single penny restored and just last year, passed historic investments that will protect our Great Lakes for generations to come. We’ve made so much progress together protecting our lakes through the years. The last thing we can afford to do right now is to take a step back. [Please, add your name and join me in renewing your commitment to our Great Lakes today.]( Thanks as always, Debbie Stabenow United States Senator, Michigan [Donate]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Paid for by the Michigan Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Great Lakes PAC and the Michigan Democratic State Central Committee Contributions or gifts to Michigan Victory Fund are not tax deductible.
