Michelle’s running to represent TX-15 — and the campaign officially launches TODAY. {NAME}

Michelle’s running to represent TX-15 — and the campaign officially launches TODAY. {NAME}, Did you see Michelle’s announcement this morning? She’s running to represent TX-15 — and the campaign officially launches TODAY. We have our work cut out for us. We’re up against the worst of the worst — Monica De La Cruz, her Trumpian allies, and all the Big Money they can muster. It’s going to take all of us working together to take them on. And the amount of support we can get on day one is VITAL to building the lasting power needed to win. [Will you become a founding donor to Michelle Vallejo’s campaign by chipping in $10 right now? Every single dollar we raise now matters.]( These first 24 hours are HUGE for us, {NAME}. That’s because what we raise today will be seen by everyone. That matters. A lot. Let us explain: For news outlets, political pundits, and especially Monica De La Cruz, our fundraising numbers will be used to gauge how much of a threat we are. And we want to make sure they see thousands of people like you stepping up and supporting a campaign that stands for all South Texans. We want to make sure they know from ON DAY ONE how formidable our movement really is. [To do that we need as many people reading this email as possible to make a contribution of any size that you can afford right now. Your name will be a brick in the foundation of this campaign — and what sends a message to our opponents.]( Because remember, Monica De La Cruz is going to be paying close attention. Her well-connected corporate donors will be paying attention. The Republican establishment will be paying close attention. Let’s give them something to be worried about. Juntos, we can. Team Vallejo ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Michelle Vallejo [info@michellefortx15.com] Date: May 16, 2023, 9:26 AM Subject: An important announcement: Hola {NAME}, my name is Michelle Vallejo, and I am running for Congress to represent TX-15. In just a bit, I’m going to ask you to become a founding donor to our campaign. But first, I want to tell you a bit about myself and why I’m jumping into this race. I come from a big family of immigrants, farm workers and entrepreneurs. My parents, immigrants who made their way to the Rio Grande Valley from Mexico, did a little bit of everything to make ends meet. But running Pulga (flea market) Los Portales, serving thousands of our community members on a weekly basis and helping dozens of working-class entrepreneurs start their businesses, defined my family's values — our South Texan values. But my life changed forever when I was in college. While at Columbia University, after years of fighting multiple sclerosis, my mother took her last breath at just 46 years old. It was then I decided the best way to honor her legacy is to fight for a better future for my family. To fight for a better future for ALL of us — including you, {NAME}. Every day, I see how hard the people of South Texas work just to scrape by. At our family’s pulga, dozens of vendors come each week, hoping to make enough to put food on the table. They are the overlooked emprendedores who make our community strong. I’m working for stronger and healthier neighborhoods in TX-15 and I have a plan to make this happen. It starts with fighting for quality affordable healthcare, protecting workers, providing good-paying jobs and a thriving economy, protecting women’s reproductive rights — and that’s just the beginning. [But to accomplish all of this, I need your help to jumpstart this campaign and put us in the best possible position for the fights ahead. Can you make a contribution and become a founding donor today? What we are able to raise today, and in these first few weeks, will be our first chance to show the state — and our opponents — just how much grassroots power we have.]( [Become a Founding Donor]( We’re at a critical moment for the future of South Texas. Monica De La Cruz makes a lot of promises to us, la gente. But in Congress, her record tells a different story. Her budget bill makes devastating cuts, from slashing veterans’ healthcare to taking away millions from our schools, and even jeopardizing Medicare and Social Security. What’s more, she’d let the government interfere in women’s private medical decisions and take away our freedoms.  She wants to distract us with extremist issues in hopes that we won’t notice how badly her policies are hurting our communities. And, more importantly, so that we won’t notice how powerful we can be if we all come together to fight for a better world. South Texas needs an advocate — no a una politica vendida. I’m not afraid of the fight ahead because I’ve been underestimated and questioned before. Time and time again while growing up, I dealt with questions about why I spoke Spanglish, or why I mixed English and Spanish, about how I wore my curly hair and whether it looked too frizzy or if it was professional enough. But instead of letting that change me, I chose to proudly represent my roots through my education and work. It’s why I decided to return to the Rio Grande Valley and get to work. And it’s something I’ll continue in this fight to become your next Congresswoman of TX-15. ¡Vamos por Quince!
