[logo] March 3, 2016 Dear Connect User, This past weekend McGraw-Hill Connect experienced an unexpected interruption of service. While this occurrence is rare, I know that you and your students depend on Connect as a critical part of your course and want to acknowledge the event and shed light on the root cause and resolution. The service interruption occurred at various points throughout the weekend and while less than 1% of our 2M+ Connect users were affected, we consider any disruption of Connect unacceptable. Issues ranged from the inability to access Connect assignments to difficulty loading SmartBook and LearnSmart. I sincerely apologize for any impact this had on you or your students. Recently, we released an update to Connect that improved its security; this update resulted in unforeseen access issues that required students to manually clear their browser cache or remove a specific browser plug-in. We posted this resolution to Connect for students as soon as we identified it. Please be assured that we view the issue as ours to own and will continue to do everything in our power to ensure the maximum possible availability of Connect for you and your students. We are deeply committed to improving student performance and understand it is critical that we deliver maximum uptime. Sincerely, Sally Shankland, President Higher Education McGraw-Hill Education To unsubscribe: [click here]. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
