Cauvery water dispute: Pro-Kannada outfit to block national highway in Bengaluru Amid the ongoing dispute between the governments of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu over the sharing of Cauvery water, pro-Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj announced on Sunday that his organisation would stage a blockade of the National Highway in Bengaluru on Tuesday to protest the issue. The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) had previously directed the Karnataka government to release 3,000 cusecs (cubic feet per second) of water for a period of 15 days, from September 28-October 12. Unhappy with the CWRC's order, the Karnataka government has filed a review petition on the matter in the Supreme Court and with the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA), reported news agency ANI.
