The museum houses 167 artefacts from the Pharaonic era to the epoch of Muhammad Ali Pasha, considered the founder of modern Egypt and the de facto ruler from 1805 to 1848. Items on display include a collection of papyrus and currency from the Greek, Roman and Islamic eras, as well as heritage manuscripts.
