Wagnerâs Lohengrin OPENS FEBRUARY 26 The Metâs spring season kicks off on Sunday, February 26, with the premiere of François Girardâs richly atmospheric new production of Lohengrinâreturning Wagnerâs soaring masterpiece to our stage for the first time in 17 years. Tenor Piotr BeczaÅa stars as the spiritual savior fighting for the worldâs redemption, with Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin leading a stellar cast that also features sopranos Tamara Wilson and Elena Stikhina as Elsa, soprano Christine Goerke as Ortrud, bass-baritone Evgeny Nikitin as Telramund, and bass Günther Groissböck as King Heinrich.
