Adapted from librettist Sarah Ruhl’s acclaimed 2003 play, the opera reimagines the familiar tale of love and loss from Eurydice’s perspective. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin takes the podium to lead Mary Zimmerman’s striking staging, which stars soprano Erin Morley in the title role, alongside baritone Joshua Hopkins as Orpheus, countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński as his otherworldly alter-ego, bass-baritone Nathan Berg as Eurydice’s father, and tenor Barry Banks as Hades.
