Baritone Will Liverman gives a powerful performance in Terence Blanchard’s adaptation of the best-selling memoir by Charles M. Blow, starring alongside sopranos Angel Blue and Latonia Moore. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts James Robinson and Camille A. Brown’s acclaimed staging, a New York Times Critic’s Pick that “heralds a new era for the Met” (The Economist). Then, on October 23, Wagner’s grand comedy Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg takes the Met stage for the first time in seven years, with Maestro Antonio Pappano conducting a sensational cast led by baritone Michael Volle and soprano Lise Davidsen in her eagerly anticipated first Wagner role with the company. Finally, the Met’s smash-hit production of the Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess returns October 31, starring soprano Angel Blue and bass-baritone Eric Owens.
