We extend our gratitude to all those who participated in this project. We highly value your feedback, so please don't hesitate to share it with us. Please provide us with your valuable feedback on how we can enhance our services to better cater to your needs. Strategic Hiring: Welcome to the Meteor Software team! In 2023, we expanded our team with seven talented professionals, further strengthening our delivery and innovation capabilities. Let's welcome each one of them: Tatiana Barros - DevRel Manager: Tatiana brings a wealth of developer relationship management experience. Her mission is to strengthen our ties with the developer community and ensure that the voices of the community are listened to. Vitor Souza and André Luis - Software Engineers: Vitor and André joined us to strengthen our engineering cloud team, bringing valuable software development experience. They also contribute to the framework by writing docs, tutorials and testing new Meteor.js versions. Thiago Reis and David Amaral - DevOps Engineers: They are responsible for maintaining and improving Galaxy and ensuring a robust and efficient infrastructure for our services. Their knowledge is crucial when we need to update our docker images and release new Meteor.js versions. Camila Rosa - Tech Community Manager: Camila will be responsible for managing our tech community, fostering engagement with users, and leveraging her expertise in technology. Nacho Codoñer - Software Engineer: Working on the OSS (Open Source Software) team, Nacho will use his expertise in Meteor (as well as React, Capacitor, Electron, MongoDB, Redis, Webpack, SWC, etc.) to contribute to further developing and enhancing Meteor.js. Jan Küster and Storyteller now have the official sponsorship of Meteor Software. They will create videos and articles, improving our tech ecosystem with their expertise and collaborating to our DevRel area. Extended Support Maintenance for Node.js 14 In April, Node.js sunsetted its version 14 LTS, and because we use and rely on this version, we as a team decided to extend maintenance for Node.js v14. This resulted in our version of Node.js: v14.21.4. You can see more about this in our [docs](~/AAAHUQA~/RgRncbeMP0UgZGYxNzViODVhODdiZWI2ODcwNTgxNjI0YTcxMTdjODlELGh0dHBzOi8vZ3VpZGUubWV0ZW9yLmNvbS91c2luZy1ub2RlLXYxNC4yMS40VwVzcGNldUIKZYSMMo9llZ7SN1IbdHJpc3RyYW1iYWxkd2luOTJAZ21haWwuY29tWAQAAGeN) and understand this decision better in our [blog post](~/AAAHUQA~/RgRncbeMP0UgNGI1MTY2N2JiNTdhNzhkOWJmMmYxZmVmM2I3OTJmMjhEW2h0dHBzOi8vYmxvZy5tZXRlb3IuY29tL2Fubm91bmNpbmctZXh0ZW5kZWQtc3VwcG9ydC1tYWludGVuYW5jZS1mb3Itbm9kZS1qcy0xNC1mOWU4MzgxZjhiYjVXBXNwY2V1QgplhIwyj2WVntI3Uht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAZ40~). Roadmap update In July, we updated our [roadmap](~/AAAHUQA~/RgRncbeMP0UgMmYyNTc4M2ZkODQ4YTM1MWI1OGY0MDg1NjEzMGQ0OGVEJGh0dHBzOi8vZG9jcy5tZXRlb3IuY29tL3JvYWRtYXAuaHRtbFcFc3BjZXVCCmWEjDKPZZWe0jdSG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAABnjQ~~) with the features that we want to implement, improve or adopt. Most remarkably, we want to finish our fiber migration. What is Meteor 3 beta? Meteor 3 beta is an early version of our next major update, designed to give users an exclusive look at new features before the official release. Yes, there are no fibers in those versions; they might have some bugs or issues that we are currently working on. How can I test Meteor 3 beta? You can always check how the beta is going on this [page](~/AAAHUQA~/RgRncbeMP0UgYTlmMDdkYTA1ZGIzMDgwNjM0NGFmMDE4ZjM4ODIwM2ZEJmh0dHBzOi8vZ3VpZGUubWV0ZW9yLmNvbS8zLjAtbWlncmF0aW9uVwVzcGNldUIKZYSMMo9llZ7SN1IbdHJpc3RyYW1iYWxkd2luOTJAZ21haWwuY29tWAQAAGeN) where we have the latest Meteor 3 beta version, a FAQ, and other helpful links. Currently, you can run meteor update --release 3.0-beta.0 in your app and start testing today! When will it be released? We are working hard to deliver an exceptional experience. We hope that we have an official release in the first quarter of 2024, as we commented in our ~/AAAHUQA~/RgRncbeMP0UgMTlmM2YyYmY5MjhkMzA2ZjFmYjhjZmE0YzQ5ZDM2OWNESWh0dHBzOi8vZm9ydW1zLm1ldGVvci5jb20vdC93aGF0cy1sZWZ0LXVudGlsLWFuLW9mZmljaWFsLW1ldGVvci0zLTAvNjA3NzVXBXNwY2V1QgplhIwyj2WVntI3Uht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAZ40~[forums.](~/AAAHUQA~/RgRncbeMP0UgNjQ2NzlhOGJiOTE5Nzg4Y2ExNDNlY2E1YTY1ZTdlNTBEGmh0dHBzOi8vZm9ydW1zLm1ldGVvci5jb20vVwVzcGNldUIKZYSMMo9llZ7SN1IbdHJpc3RyYW1iYWxkd2luOTJAZ21haWwuY29tWAQAAGeN) Galaxy In 2023, Galaxy launched several key updates to improve security, efficiency, and innovation. One of them was adding GitLab as a new option for Push to Deploy, which simplifies app deployment from the repository. Another one was raising the memory limits for Push to Deploy, from 6GB to 14GB, for better performance. A major achievement was supporting Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) in all regions for the Professional plan, following the technological evolution and the demand for more addresses. Galaxy also improved its UX/UI and the Logs tab, making it easier for users to navigate and manage their apps. Galaxy enhanced its security by adopting Forward Secrecy encryption and dropping support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1, ensuring more secure and reliable communication. It also increased the stability for Push-to-Deploy with GitLab and Bitbucket, and made it easier to use Root Domains in Galaxy. Lastly, Galaxy introduced the Feature Request and Roadmap Resource, inviting the community to participate actively and shape Galaxy’s future. These updates show Galaxy’s commitment to provide a strong, secure platform for modern developers. You have rocked this year, and we appreciate your hard work and passion.
