Let's get down to business! Meteor 2.8 Beta Version Just last month, we released Meteor 2.8 beta.5, and now, a month later, we're ready to upgrade you to 2.8 beta.7. Since the latest version of Meteor is still in beta, we want to ensure everything is working properly before we give it our stamp of approval and recommend Meteor 2.8 to you. For now, the highlights of this version are listed below: - New Mongo Package Async API - Updated MongoDB driver to 4.8 - Updated MongoDB driver to 4.9 - Updated Cordova Android to 10.1.2 - Upgrade Node to v14.20.0 - Docs improvements and bug fixes - Updated skeletons - New Chakra-UI skeleton - SolidJS skeleton We’re one step closer to releasing the recommended version, so stay tuned! Meteor Hackathon Winners Congratulations to the winners of our [2022 Meteor Hackathon]( The focus for this year was creating an application that had an impact on its users. There was no lack of ideas at this year's gathering, whether it was for social reform, animal welfare, or climate change. We had three winners for this event, with the first-place team taking home a $2,000 cash prize! Below are the top 3 winners (from first to third place): - Fasalians - Sus GAWKY (also won Best Presentation) - De-central Budapest We will upload the hackathon on our YouTube channel so make sure you subscribe to receive a notification when we upload it Thank you to everyone who participated and we hope to see you again next year! Meteor Impact Is Almost Here This year, on the 13th and 14th of October, is the third annual Meteor Impact conference. Our biggest annual community event is coming up soon!
