Let's get right into it, shall we? Meteor 2.8 Beta Version Last month, we introduced Meteor 2.8 beta.0 and now you can update to Meteor 2.8 beta.5. Below is a summary of the highlights of this version. - New Mongo Package Async API. - Updated MongoDB driver to 4.9 - Update Cordova Android to 10.1.2 - Upgrade Node to v14.20.0 - Docs improvements and bug fixes - Update skeletons We’re one step closer to releasing the recommended version so stay tuned! After Filipe Névola left in April, Fred Arantes volunteered and was given permission to take over as CEO. Fred has been working hard behind the scenes to bring on dedicated resources to work on the Meteor open source team and build bridges with the developer community through new initiatives like the Ambassador program. Hackathon: Last Day to Register & Giveaway As you may or may not be aware, our annual Meteor Hackathon is almost approaching! From September 23rd through September 30th, 2022, one of Meteor's most important events will take place. A gentle reminder, there are no boundaries on the topic of interest you might choose, however, keep in mind that we will assess your app based on a few parameters and how impactful your project is.
