Meteor Monthly Newsletter We have a few things to cover in this month’s newsletter - from the latest beta version of Meteor, a patch version of Blaze, new partnerships, Meteor events, and much more. Meteor 2.8 Beta Version The Meteor 2.8 beta version is now out and brings a few updates: - Mongo Package Async API - Updated MongoDB driver to 4.8 - Update skeletons You can update your app with meteor update --release 2.8-beta.0 If you want to read more about this version, click [here](. Blaze 2.6.1 A new patch version of Blaze has been released! This version has fixed some issues such as: - #370 templating-runtime@1.6.1, returned the Template.__define__ with warning message - #366 Prevent firing callbacks until members are destroyed - fix destroying child templates when parent is destroyed; prevents memory leak and DOMRange "not attached" error - #374 Blaze.remove should destroy view before detaching If you want to see the full list of fixes, click [here](. [LEARN MORE]( New Meteor Partnerships As previously mentioned in our [blog]( we were looking at possible partnerships with [Quave]( and [Vazco](. Now that it’s official, you’ll see new faces (or names) on GitHub and in our forums. Both companies work part-time and mainly on our top three goals for the year. [LEARN MORE]( Meteor Hackathon Our annual Meteor Hackathon is just around the corner! One of Meteor’s biggest events will be held from September 23rd to September 30th, 2022. For this year's Hackathon, you may team up with 5 members (max) to develop an impactful application using Meteor Framework. There are no restrictions on which field of interest you can pick, but remember that we will judge your idea by a few guidelines and how impactful your project is. [VIEW PRIZES]( Meteor Impact Our biggest virtual conference will occur this year on October 13th and October 14th, 2022. Don’t miss our biggest community gathering of the year! Bug fix in the package accounts-passwordless - If you’re using this package on your app, it’s extremely important that you update it. IP whitelist feature - If you’re using the IP Whitelisting feature in Meteor Cloud, the IPs will change on August 15th, 2022. You can go to your [App Settings]( tab on Galaxy to find out more and to update your configuration. Zodern:types - Zodern:types allow packages to have their own typescript types and for apps to use them. It can be used for both apps and packages and provides different tools.
