[Messy Nessy Chic]   Okay, so things have escalated since we last spoke. The good news is, you’ve just opened the right email. We don't like to brag, but [we've been avoiding people]( since way before the Coronavirus. So whether you’re hunkering down at home or just avoiding crowds for the moment, we’ve been putting our heads together at the MNC HQ to make life a little easier for you. Sure, you can catch up on a juicy novel and watch Netflix to your heart’s content – but what else? It’s time to get creative and make some lemonade... First up: [20 Things to Do at Home instead of Banging Your Head Against a Wall](, from unique DIY projects to life-enriching activities. And while you’re at it, I’ve gone and made a soundtrack for you: [Here’s your “Keep Calm & Stay Happy” Weekend Playlist]( to fill your home with the melodies of the greats who have stood by us through thick and thin, from one spontaneous dance party to the next. And then of course, we had been working on the Keyholder’s [New York City Spring Guide](, which was a little strange to put together at a time like this, but then again, big crowded places have never been our kind of thing. So with social distancing advisories in mind, check out some [al fresco adventures and uncrowded cultural gems to explore]( – reminding us that it’s still very possible to smell the literal and proverbial roses this spring! And a final thought: If you do have tickets to local live events or shows that have been cancelled due to the crisis, if you can, perhaps consider donating the money to the theatre or small business behind the event, instead of pursuing a refund. This is the kind of dark cloud that can affect cultural and arts organisations the most, which will need our support more than ever. Just this week, with a heavy heart, I had to share the news that Paris is losing our beloved [Secret Paris Archive](, La Galcante, which for reasons unrelated to the health crisis, will be [closing its doors for good at the end of this month](. So just a reminder that if you’re able, do try to support your local and small businesses in any way you can and continue to show “the little guy” some love. As always, your Weekend Conversation Starters await, including an interview with the real woman who voiced Siri, and a trip inside the most magical home of a New York decorator. Stay curious, healthy and happy, [Nessy]   [Your “Keep Calm & Stay Happy” Weekend Playlist](   [tumblr_n21m1jqbji1qite7lo1_1280]( Let’s make a pact this weekend. A move to keep calm, carry on (funny how that suddenly doesn’t sound so cliché again, right?), and remember to see La Vie en Rose. That’s precisely why I’ve whipped up a little  “Keep Calm & Stay Happy” playlist for your pleasure and relaxation, filled with all the melodies…  [Continue Reading](   [New York Spring Guide 2020](   [ScreenShot2018-05-16at11.47.12AM]( After a long and frosty winter, Springtime rolls around to pull New Yorkers out of hibernation and into the sun – which won’t stop from shining, no matter what news headlines arrive. But as we gear up to enjoy the unfurling al fresco cafes and new exhibits, New Yorkers are being asked to work together,… Pssst! You've stumbled across content that is exclusive to Nessy's Keyholders. There’s a new way to access the really special stuff from Messy Nessy Chic … Hidden beneath the surface layers of the internet, there’s a place where we keep our most secret addresses, untapped archives, creator’s inspiration,  collector’s guides, explorer’s manuals, obscure research and much more… And it’s made for our keyholders only!  [Continue Reading](   [20 Things to Do at Home instead of Banging Your Head Against a Wall](   [dc793992-7914-11e5-8ad1-12771640ddce_hero_desktop]( Okay, so things have escalated quickly. Whether you’re hunkering down at home or just avoiding crowds for the moment, we’ve been putting our heads together at the MNC HQ to make life a little easier for you. Sure you can catch up on a juicy novel and watch Netflix to your heart’s content – but what…  [Continue Reading](   [20 Questions with the Real Woman Who Voiced Siri](   [siri-graphic-1]( Today, we meet Messy Nessy’s most unusual muse du jour: Susan Bennet, AKA the real Siri. In the early 2000s she did a hefty chunk of voice work for an intermediate company – unbeknownst that, years later, it would be used to create the personality of the iPhone assistant technology that dotes on roughly 500…  [Continue Reading](   [Doomsday Fashion of the Azores Islands](   [40443659472_79ba7d1bd0_o]( Somewhere in between the Handmaids Tale and the Grim Reaper, there were the unnerving ladies of the Azores Islands. “Enveloped in their large hooded cloaks, the Azorian women seems to flit about like phantoms,” wrote Elisée Reclus a 19th century encylopedic series on the earth’s inhabitants. With radical doomsday preppers already making headlines with their…  [Continue Reading](   [Life Inside a Genie’s Lamp, in Brooklyn](   [73077710_107392580573165_1983139536713149192_n]( There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who furnish, and those who decorate. “My apartment is something that has evolved over time,” says New York City interior decorator Sean McNanney, “Ultimately my main inspiration is an Upper East Side classic six transported to Wes Anderson’s take on Old Constantinople – if that…  [Continue Reading](   [13 Things I Found on the Internet Today (Vol. CDXCIII)](   [The-North-Pole-Igloo-Hotel-HERO]( 1.
