Get this garlic recipe and gardening guide now! [Food Gardening Network Preview]( February 2, 2024 [Eat Like Pavarotti When You Grow and Prepare Your Own Garlic!]( Get everything you need to know about growing, harvesting, cooking, and eating delicious garlic—right now! [Garlic]( Dear Gardener, Famed Italian tenor and food connoisseur Luciano Pavarotti loved his pasta and garlic. I recently dreamed that I met Pavarotti in person and got to ask him all about his love of garlic. Here is my imaginary interview: Bill Dugan: Joining me now is the legendary tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, to share his deep love for garlic. Welcome, Luciano! Luciano Pavarotti: Grazie, Bill. It's a pleasure to be here to talk about my favorite culinary delight—garlic! Bill Dugan: Garlic! It's not a topic we often associate with a world-renowned tenor. Can you tell us when your love affair with garlic began? Luciano Pavarotti: Ah, garlic! It's been a part of my life since I was a child in Modena, Italy. My mother used it in almost every dish she cooked. The aroma would fill our home, and I fell in love with its pungent scent and flavor. Bill Dugan: That's great. Many people shy away from garlic because of its strong odor. How do you manage to maintain such a powerful voice while enjoying this culinary delight? Luciano Pavarotti: Well, Bill, I've always believed that garlic adds a magical touch to Italian cuisine, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them. Besides, I've been blessed with strong vocal cords, allowing me to eat garlic to my heart’s content without any vocal repercussions. Bill Dugan: That's valuable insight! Garlic is also known for its health benefits. Do you think it has contributed to your overall well-being? Luciano Pavarotti: Absolutely! Garlic has numerous health benefits, and I believe it has contributed to my stamina and vitality throughout my career. It's known for its immune-boosting properties and ability to lower blood pressure. As a performer, maintaining good health was paramount, and garlic played a part in that. Bill Dugan: Are there any particular garlic-infused dishes that you adore or recommend to our audience? Luciano Pavarotti: Oh, there are so many! But if I had to choose one, it would be the classic Spaghetti Subito. It's simple, yet exquisite. Just take 10 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed, and mix in a bowl with ¼ cup chopped Italian parsley; ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese; 3 large tomatoes that have been peeled, seeded, and chopped; 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil; salt and pepper; and a handful of chopped basil. After cooking 1 lb. of spaghetti, mix the pasta with the sauce. The harmony of those ingredients is like music to my taste buds! Bill Dugan: Well, Luciano, it's been a pleasure delving into your passion for garlic. You've truly shown us that even the most unexpected loves can bring joy and inspiration. Thank you for sharing your aromatic journey with us today! Luciano Pavarotti: Thank you, Bill. And to everyone else, remember to embrace garlic in your culinary adventures. Buon appetito! What a wonderful dream for me! [Food Gardening Network Charter Gold Membership Special Offer—Just $10 for an Entire Year! UPGRADE YOUR MEMBERSHIP TODAY!
