Your weekend is about to get tastier! [Food Gardening Network Preview]( February 22, 2023  [Let’s Brunch!]( [Magazine Issue] Is brunch the best meal of the day? It will be if these dishes are on the menu! RecipeLion Magazine is just one of the many benefits you get with a [Food Gardening Gold Club Membership.]( Dear Home Cook, One of my favorite activities on a weekend morning in spring is to make brunch. I love to open my windows wide and let the warm breeze of daybreak invigorate my home. Finches, cardinals, and wrens sing their sweet songs as the sun turns the sky orange, then pink, then clear blue. It’s the perfect accompaniment to onions sizzling in the fry pan or the spicy aroma of a cinnamon roll casserole! I also love brunch because of the many different flavors and styles you can bring in. Sweet, savory, spicy, light, filling… it’s all there. You can lean toward more traditional breakfast items or you can go all out and try new creations and combinations. It’s the perfect place to stretch your culinary skills and add some new things to your menu. In fact, I’d like to share some of my favorite brunch recipes with you in this issue of RecipeLion Magazine! Whether you enjoy a savory start or something on the sweeter side, you’ll find plenty here to treat your tastebuds. With 22 recipes in this issue, brunch is sure to be one of your favorite meals of the day! Here’s a sample of some of the dishes on the menu for this issue of RecipeLion Magazine: [Strawberry Avocado Toast] Breakfast or brunch—a good meal is always a great way to start the day. The recipes you’ll find in 8 Savory Ways to Start the Day are satisfying, filling, and will keep you going, whether that means catching an afternoon game or heading out with friends for an adventure. - Basil-Potato Frittata: Meet the basil-potato frittata—a vibrant collection of flavors with a surprisingly creamy center. Whether you’re having a casual brunch with friends or need something to take to a potluck party, the basil-potato frittata is always a winner. - 20-Minute Monte Cristo Sandwich: If you’ve never had a Monte Cristo sandwich, we highly recommend giving it a try! It’s a supercharged ham and cheese sandwich that gets dipped in batter and fried. What’s not to love? - Cheesy Croissant Casserole: Don’t pass on this dish; the freshly-baked croissants are already irresistible on their own, but they taste even more heavenly when baked in a casserole with eggs, cheese, and bacon. - Strawberry Avocado Toast: Enjoy this strawberry avocado toast, with drizzled honey, crisp shallots, and fresh-picked microgreens. It’s truly delish! [Food Gardening Network Charter Gold Membership—Just $10 for an Entire Year! UPGRADE YOUR MEMBERSHIP TODAY! Here are some I love in the 6 Sweet Sensations section of this issue. - Banana Chip Pancake Casserole: This is pretty much everything you could ask for in a delightfully sweet brunch. You have your buttermilk pancakes, bananas, and chocolate chips, all of which are a classic combination. Then you mix up eggs, heavy cream, maple syrup, and a splash of vanilla extract to pull everything together, a little like a custard. - Orange Scones: Scones feel like a fancy brunch treat. They’re also super easy to make and delicious fresh out of the oven! Top your orange scones with homemade orange marmalade for an extra boost of flavor. Yum! - Johnny Cakes: This is one of those recipes where the whole is so much greater than the sum of the parts. It’s essentially just cornmeal mixed with a little bit of salt, sugar, and milk and fried in a skillet. However, the flavors are anything but that simple. [Limoncello Sunrise] There’s no better way to make brunch a special occasion than to serve it with a snazzy drink, and we have drink recipes for all ages here. Take a peek at some of the recipes in 8 Sips & Cocktails. - Knockout Peach Berry Fizz: This garden-to-glass Knockout Peach Berry Fizz includes homemade peach schnapps, blackberry liqueur, strawberry cordial, and raspberry vodka. For garnish, some thyme flowers in a fresh raspberry! - Chamomile Fizz: Chamomile Fizz, you say? Yes, indeed. Think tea, but fizzy. It’s bubbly, refreshing, and the perfect beverage for a spring day. - Limoncello Sunrise: A refreshing tropical garden-to-glass cocktail, Limoncello Sunrise combines homemade Meyer lemon limoncello and orange juice with a splash of homemade grenadine and some inspiring garden-fresh garnishes. I hope you enjoy this issue of RecipeLion Magazine, and find a beautiful, sunny day to try out some of these recipes! [Food Gardening Network Charter Gold Membership—Just $10 for an Entire Year!
