[Muscular Dystrophy Association]( [2024: A Year of Promise and Progress] Dear {NAME}, My name is Matt Plummer, member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) Board of Directors and someone living with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). I'm reaching out to you today – on Rare Disease Day – as an MDA advocate and volunteer and also, as someone who understands what it means to push beyond the perceived limits of a rare disease. [My journey living with SMA]( has been a testament to redefining possibilities. Doctors once said I'd never lead a 'normal' life. Yet here I am: a college graduate, a creative professional, a husband, and a father. MDA has been a pivotal part of my journey. They’ve provided support all along the way, with access to specialized care within the [MDA Care Center Network]( educational resources and information, and recreation programs like MDA Summer Camp. And because of MDA’s global research program, there are more treatments than ever available to people living with neuromuscular diseases like SMA. This is why today, on Rare Disease Day, your support is vital. Your gift not only funds groundbreaking research and increased access to resources and care but strengthens a community that believes in going beyond limits. Let's show the world that when it comes to rare diseases, there's no such thing as 'can't.' [I'll Help]( Thank You, Matt Plummer Member, MDA Board of Directors P.S. When you donate $35 or more online, you’ll receive this special, limited-edition T-shirt I designed for this year's MDA Shamrocks campaign. Wear it as a symbol of our community’s resilience and hope!
