You might be wondering, “How can a terminal disease have a sunny side?” Well, y’all haven’t met me yet! I’m Sunny Brous, and I’ve been living with ALS since 2015. That makes me a bit of a unicorn — only about 10% of people with ALS live this long. It took doctors a year and a half to figure out why I was tired and losing strength. By the time I had my answer, I gotta say, I was relieved. Knowing what this thing was let me move on and focus on the positive! And that’s how I’ve lived my life ever since, {NAME}: No apologies, no excuses, no regrets. That’s what I love about MDA. [They’ve always got our backs, whether it’s: Navigating care and providing support. - Providing clinical trial alerts when scientists discover something new & hopeful.]( I may be positive by nature, but it’s MDA that keeps me smiling on the hardest days. And I hear YOU have a lot to do with that, {NAME}, so thank you. [I hope you’ll help MDA raise $300,000 for ALS Awareness Month.]( Take it from me: When you’re living with ALS, a sunny outlook can make all the difference! All my best, Sunny Brous ALS Advocate & Optimist [Drink one for dane]( Help Dutch Bros support MDA and their mission to end ALS!
