Fuel care. Fuel science. Fuel hope. [Please support MDA during ALS Awareness Month.]( [Muscular Dystrophy Association]( Where ALS Families Find Hope [Help MDA Raise $300,000 by May 31]( Dear {NAME}, What is an MDA Care Center? From a clinical perspective, an MDA Care Center is a hub where doctors, therapists, and scientists work closely together. Their goal? To give our patients the best possible quality of life while advancing our knowledge of ALS and other conditions that disrupt nerve pathways. There are MDA Care Centers integrated into more than 150 of the nation’s top medical centers, and while ALS patients are seen at every adult location, 47 of our Care Centers are designated as specialists in ALS care and research. Here, care and interventions from a multidisciplinary care team actually have an impact on life expectancy and quality of life. This is crucial because the progression of ALS varies in each affected person and can sometimes present with rapid onset of debilitating symptoms that lead to fatal outcomes. [But thanks to friends like you, that’s not where our intervention ends.]( Because our care teams work side-by-side with scientists, they can also enroll patients in current clinical trials and other important studies on the cutting edge. {NAME}, it’s only a matter of time and funding before one of these next generation therapies proves to be a CURE for ALS. That’s why, from a human perspective, an MDA Care Center is also a gateway to hope. As a doctor, I see that hope firsthand. It keeps so many people going, even when their own bodies are failing them. That’s the hope you create when you donate to MDA. [Please help us reach our $300,000 goal during ALS Awareness Month, {NAME}](. We serve thousands of patients nationwide, and every one of them is searching for some hope! Gratefully, Matthew B.
