Last week on the Wednesday before New Years, I had just gotten home from the office when my mom call

Last week on the Wednesday before New Years, I had just gotten home from the office when my mom called me with massive news… {NAME},  My name is Deandra and I am the Finance Director for Ike McCorkle - the Democrat taking on Lauren Boebert in her new district.  Last week on the Wednesday before New Years, I had just gotten home from the campaign office when my mom called to tell me that Lauren Boebert had announced that she’d be moving to our district. Immediately I dropped what I was doing and got in the car to make the 30 minute drive back to the office (thanks Lauren 🙄) and began frantically calling Ike’s cellphone to no avail.   Trying to problem solve, I went on to ActBlue and found Ike’s mom’s number hoping that if I called her she could get me the number for one of his kids who could relay the news and tell Ike to call me.  I called Ike’s mom and told her the news - she gave me numbers for the kids but it was ultimately her that got ahold of him. When Ike got back to me later that night he told me something hilarious:  “When my mom called me and said that you called her in the middle of the night to tell her I was now running against Boebert, I honestly thought you were on drugs until I read the news for myself.”  That’s how ludicrous Lauren Boebert moving over 300 miles to run in our district is - if it wasn’t true people would think you are on drugs for saying it. And this is exactly why we will beat her.  To wrap up my story, I stayed at the office until three that morning to send/prepare rapid response fundraising emails and texts for that night and the next day. And so began the start of a pedal to the metal push to raise as much as we could before our end of quarter on the 31st, New Years Eve.  When all was said and done we raised nearly $200,000 from over 6,000 grassroots donors over the course of the four days following Boebert’s announcement.  Now we’ve set a goal of $2,000,000 for this quarter so we can catch up with Boebert’s warchest. It will be one of the hardest things this campaign has ever done but with the help of our army of grassroots supporters we will do it. How we raised all that money over four days was through people making an average donation of $28.22 on ActBlue. It might not seem like a lot but when you multiply it, it adds up quickly.[Can you help us start 2024 in the strongest position by donating our average contribution of $28.22?]( [Donate $28.22]( Or make a donation of another amount [here]( or at the button below. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
