Save the date and preorder your SIC Virtual Pass today Dear Reader, The fastest way out of the storm is through it. It’s a simple concept, but difficult when looking at markets, to have the discipline to lean into challenges rather than “hold and hope” for miracle solutions. The “storm” facing us all as I write today is one of immense uncertainty—politically, geopolitically, in the market, at the Fed, with inflation, technology, AI, social strife and division, generational upheaval and change… The solution to the uncertainty isn’t avoidance. There are no safe sidelines upon which we can sit and wait and hope. The fastest way out is through. Today, I’m pleased to announce the Strategic Investment Conference (SIC) 2024 (our 20th Anniversary year!) is here—our theme this year is, Into the Storm. Together, we’ll get through this, and emerge happier, more resilient, and hopefully wealthier on the other side. Below, I’ll give some more details on exciting new changes we have to show you for this special anniversary year. I’ll also give you a snapshot look into our in-progress lineup of speakers. You’ll notice many perennial favorites as well as some compelling new faces. As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary year, I’m pleased to show you a step forward in how we fulfill the SIC experience. Throughout our 5 days together, you’ll be able to interact with me and others in real time, something we’ve never been able to do before this year. In other words, your voice will be heard, and you will have more control over your SIC experience with a community conference-style platform designed to facilitate organized, fruitful, real-time interaction. An upgraded experience, I might add, at no extra cost to you. With that said, this step forward reflects how relentless the pace of technology is transforming the world, a stark reminder of the inevitability of change. Underscoring the fact that we’re on the precipice of unprecedented disruption and uncertainty. Put simply, the new conference platform we’re using this year brings you closer to the action, the ideas, and the solutions than ever before. We’re still in the process of lining up speakers, but [you can click here to see who has confirmed so far](. This year’s SIC will take place on alternating days between April 22 and May 1. “I really appreciate the virtual aspect of the conference, as it allows me to attend without committing my entire week to the event. Really enjoy the quality of the presenters, such as Neil Howe, Lacy Hunt, Rosie, Danielle, etc.” —Glenn B. To help us see clearly and navigate through the storm, we’ve assembled a cast of distinguished experts in economics, geopolitics, and technology. One of the headliners we’ve already secured is Dr. Lacy Hunt. Lacy served as senior economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and now as executive VP and chief economist at Hoisington Investment Management Company. As Lacy enters his 55th year in the industry, he brings a wealth of experience and perspective. I look forward to hearing his insights about the significant challenges to come and how we can position ourselves for the changes ahead. I’m also looking forward to hearing from David “Rosie” Rosenberg. Rosie has an exceptional sixth sense for the US economy and an ability to anticipate crises. I admire Rosie’s accomplishments as an entrepreneur and his exhaustive track record, and whether you agree with him or not, what I want most for you to experience is his unwavering conviction and ability to see through the noise and navigate economic realities in the current markets. Returning to the virtual stage this year is Louis Gave of Gavekal Research. Louis remains a perpetual favorite. With his unique style, Louis consistently provides a wealth of information and insights. I am confident that he will bring fresh and valuable perspectives you can use to frame how you look at the global economy and approach your investment strategy in light of geopolitical instability. No matter how the global economy may wobble around us, Louis has a knack for making the discussion lively and engaging, creating a session you won’t want to miss. This only scratches the surface of not what’s to come, but who… This time last year, we had 20 speakers lined up. As of this morning, 32. Every year, it seems our speaker slots and panels fill faster than ever—I’ve never seen a lineup like this at this point. [For the full list and to preorder your SIC 2024 Virtual Pass, click here.]( Like last year, all solo presentations, panels, and fireside chats will cover the most critical economic, political, and investment issues of our time. New to this year will be the option to add to calendar events you’d like to join and bookmark those you’d like to come back to review again at your leisure. Couple that with real-time interaction with me and others in real time, and this is already a more dynamic and engaging conference experience than ever before. As always, we’ll provide video and audio recordings and transcripts of each session, as well as presenter slides (as available). “It really does keep getting better! The broad scope of topics and the experience of the faculty created a far-reaching look at national and global economies. as well as creating a template for the future. Totally amazing!” —Jane Z. “I know of no venue where I can find this line-up of expertise.” —Samuel M. “I mainly read the transcripts since I can’t always watch the live podcasts. Lots of important issues are facing us at this time, and the speakers helped to give me better understanding and insight.” —Tony S. In 2023, we “thought the unthinkable.” Now the unthinkable is upon us. From geopolitical tensions in the Middle East to Taiwan to the new developments in US-China relations, from a precarious global economy to the double-edged sword of AI—an era of uncertainty and change is here. The storm, in other words, is upon us. Let’s navigate through it together. I hope this year you’ll join us as a fellow attendee, whether it’s your first time or your 20th. My team and I will keep you updated on more developments as they come.
