Marketing is communication and communication is no easy thing. In my experience, the best way to improve your communication skills is comedy. I was a stand-up comedian for four years. It taught me more about connecting with an audience and honing my material to a fine, sharp edge than even 35 years as a professional writer. (It also taught me bombing on stage is important and won’t kill you. It taught me that many, many times.)
