I can’t believe Republicans would go this far

They claim to be the party that supports our servicemembers and veterans – but they’re actions show the opposite. [Proposed GOP cuts would slash $30 billion from veterans spending]( In their newest budget proposal, I am horrified to see Republicans taking aim at funding for the most basic and critical veteran benefits. These cuts could completely undo the progress we made since I led the passing of the PACT Act, which was a hugely needed boost to the VA and veteran benefits. In fact, they’re proposing cutting nearly 25% of funding for the Veteran Affairs Department! It would be laughable if it wasn’t so egregious. This will mean longer wait times, fewer staff, and dwindling benefits for veterans. How can we expect veterans to risk their lives in service to our country – to protect our rights – only to strip away they’re promised benefits??
