Wanted to talk to you about our National Parks, if you have a minute. When Teddy Roosevelt created them, the concept was pretty new. At the height of the Industrial Revolution, conservation and preservation weren’t big priorities. Looking back, he was really on to something. Today, our National Parks are some of our greatest treasures. They’re the heritage of every American — something we all can be proud of, that we all have equal rights to. And in my opinion, it’s something we should keep doing. That’s why I have a bill for a new National Park: Chiricahua, down in Southeast Arizona. It’s an incredibly unique place, with its own history, plant and animal life, and dramatic rock formations. It deserves the protections that come with a National Park designation. [Chiri park]( My bill passed in the Senate in 2022, but it didn’t receive a vote in the House. I reintroduced it last year, but it didn't get a Senate vote.
