[image](=) [image] This Week in the Market The market held its own last week despite inflation numbers coming in a little hotter than expected. Stocks were able to fight the urge to move lower as buyers pushed the S&P 500 into positive territory at week’s end. Stocks maintained their resiliency, which means a neutral to non-bearish bias should be respected until major support levels are broken. Implied volatility levels are back down to where they have been mostly hanging around since late November. In other words, options are pretty cheap. It will be a short week of trading as the market is closed in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday. The rest of the week will feature an increase in quarterly announcements as we move toward the heart of earnings season. Several economic reports are due out this week as well beginning Wednesday, and at least one Federal Reserve speaker is on the schedule every day except Monday. It has become my favorite underlying. META – Two bull call spreads did well last week, and after Friday’s move higher more will be explored.
