[image](=) [image] This Week in the Market Can anything slow down this bullish market? How many articles and emails have you read that berate the market, saying it cannot do this or should not do that? And yet it keeps chugging along higher. Certainly, there may be a time when we do get a decent pullback, but so far nothing has come close in several months. The S&P 500 is trading at its highest point in 2023 and in well over a year. A bullish to non-bearish bias will make sense until a decent bearish pullback does occur. Implied volatility levels and options prices continue to fall. Several economic reports are due out this week, including a couple of housing reports and the latest retail sales figure. Housing has been defying the odds by holding its own even as inflation rises. Letâs see if that trend continues. In addition, quarterly earnings are starting to pick up, with heavyweights TSLA and NFLX expected to announce this week as well as several financial institutions. a Losing Game? Have you ever heard that options are risky? I am sure you have. Have you also been asked if you have made or can make any money trading options? I am sure you have as well. When people ask me if trading options is worth it, I give them my standard answer. I tell them it depends on two things: you and what you hope to accomplish. I will elaborate a bit on each point, but there are certain things option trading can and cannot do and you need to understand this before trading options. In fact, we did a successful one last week and will be looking for more again this week. META â With the stock making a big move higher early last week, it was no surprise when it closed lower on Friday. If Monday brings an engulfing bullish candle, additional bull call spreads will be considered. GOOGL â The stock rallied big last week into some potential resistance around the $126 level.
