[image]() [image] This Week in the Market With Monday’s bearish session too much for bulls to overcome, the indexes again closed lower than the previous week. Heading into this week, nothing has really changed from a technical perspective. The major indexes are all trading well below their 50- and 200-day moving averages. A continued non-bullish bias needs to be respected until some resistance levels have been broken, starting with the 4,300 level for the S&P 500. Implied volatility levels have eased a bit, although the market has not been able to push any higher over the past couple of weeks. It is Fed week as the Federal Reserve is set to gather on Tuesday and announce if there will be a rate hike on Wednesday. A month earlier, it looked as if it might have been a tossup whether members were going to add 25 or 50 basis points. But since then, the odds have been heavily on the side of a 25-basis-point hike. In addition, several economic reports are expected, including a couple of housing reports and the latest retail sales figure. Quarterly earnings remain slow. Be careful on Wednesday with the Fed announcement, and have a safe, happy and healthy week!
