[image](=) [image] This Week in the Market Stocks traded fairly sideways till Fridayâs action pushed them to much lower levels for the week with the three major indexes all closing below their 200-day moving averages again. This coming week the market will try again to dig out of that moving average hole and move higher. With chances increasing that the Federal Reserve may boost rates 50 basis points soon, and at the time of this writing concerns that Russia will move into Ukraine, it may be tough sledding ahead for bullish traders. That said, the market has been resilient in the past, so a move higher would not and should never be out of the question. Implied volatility levels and option prices took a pretty good spike higher on Friday on concerns Russia may have already started its invasion. Earnings calls continue to slow, but there are several big-name companies expected to announce this week, including Alibaba, Baidu and NVDIA. As far as economic reports go, several are on tap, including the notes from the Fedâs last meeting. Itâs unclear whether there will be any more insight to how the Fed is leaning before the next meeting, but it might be worthwhile to keep an eye on the market Wednesday afternoon. SPY â The market moved precipitously lower on Friday, and the $430 level has acted as support several times for the ETF. Potential bull put spreads will be examined. DIS â After gapping higher on earnings and then moving lower on Thursday and Friday, the stock is currently sitting at its 50-day moving average. A move higher on Monday could trigger consideration for bull call spreads.
