[Sign up here](  Here's the problem with networking I’ll bet you’ve tried networking and “it didn’t work.”  Am I right?  I hear this all the time from prospects who want better clients but hate networking.  It turns out, whatever networking they’ve done is very random, and not at all “strategic.” (No wonder you hate it!)  Strategic networking is one of the 3 most effective marketing tools. That's why it's an integral part of the Simplest Marketing Plan (SMP).  Here’s what happens when you are strategic about your networking: “I’m excited! I received an inquiry about two new projects via a contact I made through the local chapter of the trade association I joined in my niche. The prospect is really plugged into the industry. both locally and nationally. This is the third new business request I've received in the past month through this trade association. So I can say for sure that getting active on committees is a boon for my business. I show up at meetings as the only content marketer in the room. Plus, meetings are fun, and I'm getting to know lots of great people in my niche.”  This, from someone who really didn’t want to do any networking at all because she had tried it and “it didn’t work.” In fact, just yesterday she wrote to me, "Networking has become one of the best parts of running my business!" I kid you not! [Read her networking tips here](.  Strategic networking is when you know who "your people" are and how to find them.  Another little experiment (Join us) I just posted a poll about networking on LinkedIn -- please add your two cents to this question: What exactly do you dislike about networking?
