Hey there! Markay here. This weekend, I was watching Back To The Future II with my kiddos. You know the one. It’s the not-nearly-as-great-as-the-first sequel where Marty McFly’s old nemesis Biff steals the time machine… And uses it to bring a sports almanac to his young self, telling him to place bets with it in the future… Making future Biff fabulously wealthy in the process. It took a minute for the kids to wrap their heads around this concept… What we do now affects our future greatly… And if we know ahead of time that something’s going to happen… We can make moves that will pay dividends down the line. I’ll be honest - it was a great teaching moment for them because I used it to explain how doing simple things now can pay off for them in the future. I mean super simple things... Like making the bed first thing in the morning means you have a comfy, clean place to slip into at night... Like doing your homework early means you’ll have more time to play on the weekend... And like paying attention to what’s coming up next can help you because you’ll be ahead of the curve instead of running to catch up. This is true in the stock market, too, of course. Today is a perfect example of that. This afternoon, the Federal Open Market Committee will release the minutes from their last meeting. See, three weeks ago, they met to make policy decisions… But what they decided has been under wraps until today. If you’re an investor, you definitely want to pay attention to this because these minutes can move markets. They give insight into what the Fed governors are thinking about monetary policy and how the economy is doing. And that, in turn, can give us some ideas about what we should look for in a good trade in the near future. It may not be as transparent as Biff’s sports almanac… But it’s still a good indicator we all need to pay attention to. If you want to know what else we’re paying attention to this week, you need to check this out: My friend and a trading legend, Tom Busby, is going LIVE tonight to talk about a mistake he made in his past that had major consequences for his future. See, on Black Monday in 1987, Tom lost $500,000 (that’s not a typo!) in one day… But fortunately, this story has a happy ending. The lesson he learned that day taught him his favorite trade setup, the Horse Race Trade, and that’s what he’ll be teaching tonight!
