Happy St. Patrick's Day to you - coming up on Sunday. 🍀 It's been a very full and intense week... wow, I'm sure you can feel the energies heating up, too. How do we deal with an erosion of trust? This was one of 84 slides from my recent Social Media Marketing World presentation on the subject of Facebook Marketing in an AI-World. Remember 'back in the day' when social media was just getting going? From circa 2007-2019, the word 'authenticity' was bandied about relentlessly to the point it became blasé. "Be authentic," everyone chanted! But the true meaning became diluted with so much overuse. Now, we're living in a frenzy of AI-powered everything and tsunamis of synthetic media flooding our social feeds. You stop the scroll when something grabs your attention. Your finger is poised over the like/love/wow reaction button. But, wait a minute! You get that sinking feeling in your gut. "This is not real!" 😳 Trust starts eroding when we don't even now what's real anymore. I'm here to tell you that authenticity is making a comeback. We have to step up and lead the way with transparency and full disclosures. If we use an AI tool to create our work, we really need to tell people. Do you agree? And if platforms are using our data to train their AI models, they need to make this practice OPT IN vs. opt out. This was one of the hot topics I discussed on the live masterclass with Ben Angel: AI Marketing Unleashed. If you missed the session, we have the [replay](=) available for you. I'd love to know your thoughts when you've had a chance to watch. Popular topics this week in Mari's Social Scoop Facebook Group For this week's email, I've rounded up some useful topics, discussions, responses, and resources from inside my Facebook Group: - Michelle mentioned that ever since the recent Meta outage, any [ads she has running to websites have tanked](. Messenger ads still doing ok. Hmm! - I asked if anyone else was having [issues using Zoom to livestream to their Facebook business Page]()... alas, this seems widespread. But of course you can stream to your Page using StreamYard, Ecamm, etc. And connecting Zoom through Restream should still work. - Karen asks how to best [navigate Admin Assist](=) in her group for scheduling reoccurring weekly posts. - Debbee is seeking advice on how to [post in her group as the business page]() not profile. - Jodi wonders if there's a way to create Facebook Events in your group as an Admin but [not allow members to create Events](=). - Many folks have been posting about all kinds of [bugs]() and [glitches](=) on Facebook in the past week... including making a post with an image and caption (description) and when you hit publish, [only the photo publishes and the caption vanishes](). This happened to me, too. I've learned my lesson for now and keep a copy of what I wrote up in TextEdit or Notes app. Sheesh. Facebook is so darn riddled with bugs right now it's not even funny. 😢 Hmph. AI Marketing Unleashed The free webinar I led with Ben Angel on Wednesday was a big hit. We had over 1,000 people registered from all over the world and hundreds tuned in live. Thank you to everyone that provided such great feedback! [the wolf is at the door](=) If you missed the live event, you can easily [catch the replay here](=). On this lively session, Ben and I talked about a few challenging topics like AI and copyright ownership, and deepfakes, and whether we can protect ourselves or not. [😳] We also talked about how our data is being used to train all these AI models out there. It truly should be opt IN, not opt out, as Ben says. And I couldn't agree more. And we discussed the erosion of trust with so much synthetic media flooding our social media feeds these days... and ways that you can build deeper connections and rise above the noise. Would you like to let me know your feedback once you've watched the webinar? You're welcome to reply to this email! PLUS, as I've been promising, I will soon offer a free private webinar for you on Facebook Marketing in an AI World. The response has been amazing and I'll follow up with you once I've set the date. Stay tuned! (I'm having almost all the windows replaced in my home right now and am trying to function in a construction zone. ha! So, once the 'dust settles,' I'll be able to pick a date for this live online event for you!) Okiedokes, that's a wrap for this week's email! You're welcome to reach out to me anytime.
