Have you ever had the sense that your phone LISTENS to you and gathers data for showing you more personalized ads? [ð±][ð]ðµ Ugh, right? ð¬ Many folks have certainly had the experience (that seems WAY too coincidental) of talking about a subject only to see ads for that very thing moments later. BUT, guess what, my friend? Turns out these mega tech companies and advertisers do not 'NEED' to listen to us because they already have an absolutely *MASSIVE* amount of personal data on each and every one of us. Yep, Consumer Reports recently published a unique, eye-opening study on this. Using a panel of 709 volunteers who shared archives of their Facebook data, Consumer Reports found that a total of 186,892 companies sent data about them to the social network. [ð³]Shocker! On average, each participant in the study had their data sent to Facebook by 2,230 companies. That number varied significantly, with some panelistsâ data listing over 7,000 companies providing their data. [Read more and join the discussion on this Facebook post.]() I'd be curious to know your thoughts on this practice. Are you comfortable with this inordinate amount of data gathered and shared about you and your loved ones? Could Meta's next model 'crush' Chat GPT-4? In a Reel posted to Facebook and Instagram, Zuckerberg recently stated that people are going to need new devices for AI. He's convinced we all need a pair of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. ð And Meta is working on "Building the best AI Assistants: AIs for Creators, AIs for businesses and more. This means advances in every area of AI." Okay, I'm actually genuinely excited about the possibilities of fully customizable AI Assistants for businesses from Meta! (Not the silly celebrity chats; those are a waste of space, IMHO! Haha!) But the biggest news in Zuckerberg's Reel was the MASSIVE amount of processors Meta is investing in for the development of AI: 600,000!! That's about $18 billion worth, apparently. And, although the total number of processors hat OpenAI used to train GPT-4 is not publicly known for certain, it's thought to be around 20-25k. Compare that to Meta's 600k. Staggering, right? Wowzers. Things are really heating up on the AI frontiers, yes? I'd love to hear your thoughts on all this. [Join the conversation about Meta's AI developments on my Facebook Page](.
