Mari breaks it down for you Greetings {NAME}! "Make it stop," was one of the many comments my community members posted on my recent Facebook updates. I know, it can sure get weary! Another week goes by. More Meta / Facebook changes to deal with. 😏 We have not one but two major changes to process recently... and to decide whether to revamp our strategy for marketing on Facebook, yet again. Let me break it down for you... Clone yourself on Facebook? 🤷 [Beware of scams on Facebook!]() You can now create up to 4 additional Facebook personal profiles (with any name you want!) tied to your original account. Why would anyone want to do this? There are a number of use cases, including keeping your personal and professional lives separate, as well as joining groups under a different name/pseudonym, or curating a specific feed, or exploring your alter ego?! 😆 For full details, pros and cons, etc. see my [comprehensive write up]() about this new feature. Facebook first began testing the ability to create multiple profiles in July 2022. This option is now being rolled out worldwide over the coming months. If you don't have the option yet, it'll only be a matter of time. What do you think? Do you plan to create one or more additional profiles? I'd love to know! Feel free to reply to this email. And/or pop a comment on my Facebook [post](). Meta Verified for business accounts Meta's [paid subscription service](=) for the verified blue badge + extra visibility + other benefits, will roll out soon to BUSINESS accounts across Facebook, Instagram, and eventually WhatsApp. How much is it? - $21.99-$27.99 USD/month per Facebook page or Instagram professional account, depending on whether you purchase on mobile or desktop. Benefits of Meta Verified for businesses include: - A blue tick verified badge (if that's important to you) - Proactive impersonation monitoring (if this happens to you/your business a lot) - Access to support (I'm hearing very mixed reviews about the efficacy of this) - New ways to be discovered (see below) The extra visibility/discoverability is not increased reach of your actual posts, unfortunately. It's i) appearing at or near the top of search results (only when someone searches for the exact name of your verified business, and ii) as a recommended verified business to follow in feed. 🤔 Read more and join the discussion on my Facebook [post]( or on [Instagram](. Do you already have Meta Verified on your personal account(s)? Whether you do or not, are you likely to subscribe to the business side? Feel free to hit reply to this email. I do read and respond to all replies myself personally! Why these changes? Mari's thoughts... Remember last week, I shared with you three new feature sets in Facebook / Messenger (more @tags, Messenger notes, Sidechat in Community Chats). Each of these is Meta attempting to lure users into spending more time engaging on its platforms. Now with the ability to create up to four more personal profiles, each new profile has its own new separate FEED, which means lots more space for placing ads, right? And, it's only a matter of time that sub profiles will also get access to Professional Mode ... which includes the Boost button. (Not all features available to main accounts are available on sub profiles at launch, but will be added, no doubt). So, along with Meta Verified coming to businesses, it's all a ploy to increase revenue. The writing is on the wall. Hence Zuckerberg's ultra focus on the next big thing... the metaverse. I'm not saying this is the Titanic... 😆 Just that eventually it all has to plateau, right? As much as Z wants to convince investors that his ship can keep expanding at all costs ... yet there are only so many people in the world and we all have finite time! Facebook and Instagram – along with most of the other other social platforms – will still be here a decade from now. But how we use these sites is definitely shifting, what with the rapid uptake and integration of AI and constant fierce competition among these platforms. NEW training programs 🎓 COMING SOON!! I'm super pumped to unveil a couple of programs I've been working on intently behind the scenes. I've had a lot of folks DMing me wondering when I'm leading my next Facebook/social media marketing courses. It won't be much longer now. Thank you for your patience and your interest.
