Mari has the scoop... Greetings {NAME}! Are you having an enjoyable summer so far? . I sure hope so!

Mari has the scoop... Greetings {NAME}! Are you having an enjoyable summer so far? (Winter for our friends in the southern hemisphere). I sure hope so! Taking time off to enjoy a proper vacation is rather rare for me. But I'm delighted to share that I just enjoyed a most amazing ~2 weeks with my sister and brother-in-law, Fiona and Stuart, who came to visit me in Oregon from Scotland. [Mari & Fiona Mt Shasta](=) We had the most wonderful time hiking, mountain climbing, kayaking, sightseeing, swimming, picnicking, and lots more. Spending time with family is so close to my heart and I really don't do enough of it these days, TBH, seeing they all live in Scotland and Canada and I'm the only one in the US! See my vacay highlights and read about my sister's amazing sabbatical on [this Facebook post](. Btw, I was reading an [article]() the other day about how Americans are taking more vacation, but many still don't use all their PTO. (Paid time off. Or planned/personal time off). Pic: with my dear sis, Fiona - at Siskiyou Lake and the amazing Mount Shasta in the background. Is YouTube part of your marketing mix? I just posed this question on my Facebook page - come [add your answer]( along with your YouTube handle (URL), and check out some great YT channels while you're there! Doing much more with YouTube is a long time goal of mine, hahaa! Seriously, though, I've often thought over the past decade or more that both YouTube and LinkedIn are the slow and steady contenders in the social media race. Both platforms are super powerful, especially YouTube for SEO and video search. I post sporadically but am planning a lot more... soon! Here's my [channel](=) if you'd like to subscribe! As for YouTube pros, I have great respect for both my longtime industry friends Sean Cannell and Adrian Salisbury. There are many more great experts out there, too. Meta's Continued Growth Meta recently hosted it's Q2 earnings call and, as usual, CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave his opening remarks. The stock popped up nicely that day, as the report all looked and sounded rather rosy. Here's a quick excerpt (Zuckerberg's words in italics): "...There are now more than 3.8 billion people who use at least one of our apps every month. Facebook now has more than 3 billion monthly actives -- with daily actives continuing to grow around the world, including in the US and Canada." [See that? STILL growing. Don't let anyone tell you Facebook is dead. Lol!] "In addition to our core products performing well, I think we have the most exciting roadmap ahead that I've seen in a while. We've got continued progress on Threads, Reels, Llama 2, and some ground-breaking AI products in the pipeline as well as the Quest 3 launch coming up this fall..." Emphasis added by me. Read Zuckerberg's full remarks [here](). And come chat in my Social Scoop group about the newest announcements today on [Meta's AudioCraft]() - AI audio/music tool. Whilst it's amazing to see such rapid AI developments, I do have my concerns about some of these tools, TBH. Writers, let's meet up in Florida! I'm delighted to speak at the AWAI's [Copywriting Success Bootcamp & Getting Clients]() in October, and I'd love to see you there if it's a fit for you! Last month, I led a comprehensive 10-part Social Media Strategist Certification program for almost 200 amazing participants and the feedback has been phenomenal. Now, it's time to meet up IRL! Come [check out the bootcamp]() and see if it's for you. I'd love to see you there.
