Mari has the scoop for you... Greetings {NAME}, I read the news about Meta's newest AI development in the world of voice the other day and was like, "Okay, what's the point? What's the use case? Does this have an impact on businesses?" Well, things like removing background noise is a good thing. Language translation. Sure. Here's Meta's announcement = [Introducing Voicebox](: The first generative AI model for speech to generalize across tasks with state-of-the-art performance Now I see this headline (on Futurism.com) and it is unsettling. [Facebook's creepy new AI can replicate your friends' voices - what could possibly go wrong](=)? Indeed. Meta-formerly-Facebook has unveiled a "breakthrough" new text-to-speech AI that can edit existing audio, speak in six languages, and — in a more unsettling turn — replicate your loved ones' voices. (Of course, it's Meta the parent company that's developing these new technologies. But more people recognize Facebook, so why not put it in the headline. Lol.) Fair enough, there are definitely really good use cases to help foster better accessibility. Your thoughts? [image] You can now create Facebook ads to promote your Group I'm hearing from Facebook Group owners in both Australia and Canada that now have this feature. I'm not 100% sure if it's rolled out in the U.S. yet. I don't see it myself in my main group Mari Smith's Social Scoop. I appreciate there are certainly many other creative organic and paid ways to promote Facebook groups. But it's just nice to have an actual ad unit that does this now (when it comes to all!). This is a long overdue ad option. It seems to be rolling out in some countries. Do you see a 'Promote Group' button in your Facebook groups? When you do get access, do you plan to use the feature? Feel free to reply to this email and/or add your thoughts to [this Facebook post](=). [Promote FB Group]() Screenshot: Sherry Crummy posted in my [Social Scoop group](=). Download Instagram Reels shared by public accounts to your camera roll This one makes me scratch my head... why would you want to download other people's videos to your camera roll? Only so you can remix them and upload as your own version, right? Or maybe save to rewatch over and over when offline. Lol. Adam Mosseri points out that Reels shared by private accounts cannot be downloaded and public accounts can turn off the ability for people to download their reels in Account Settings. Phew. Good to know. [image] Facebook lead gen ads: Instant forms vs. website conversions Meta's lead ad unit has been incredibly popular and effective for some time now. The company keeps working on iterating and improving. I came across this [helpful article](=) on Search Engine Land and thought you'd find it valuable, too. Discover the difference between instant forms and website conversions, when to use each option, and how to set up Facebook lead gen ads. That's all for now. As I mentioned the other week, I appreciate there are at least 500 zillion new updates in the world of Meta, Facebook, and all of social media on a regular basis... I pay attention to a lot of it and do my utmost to only cherry pick a few pertinent updates for you. You're welcome to reach out anytime. Speaking of cherry picking, today I discovered I have this most abundant [cherry tree]() on my new property in Ashland, Oregon today. Woohoo! What's that saying? Life is one giant bowl of cherries, right? Hehee! [image] P.P.S. I'm up at o'dark thirty in the wee hours today to jet down to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico for a most wonderful speaking engagement. I'm delighted to give a keynote speech at the leadership retreat for the top 200 thrivers at Le-Vel Brands. It's such a great company and group!
