Mari has the scoop for you... Greetings {NAME}, What is the state of Facebook in 2023? Should you get Meta Verified? Should you enable Professional Mode? What is Meta doing with AI developments? What's the opportunity here? OR, is Facebook dead? LOL. (Or, just for 'old people?' You know, like 35 and up haahaa! ) Check out my annual interview with the one-and-only Sean Cannell on The Think Media Podcast where we dive deep into ALL you need to know about Facebook! Would you like to watch/listen to [our interview on YouTube](=)?! [Sean & Mari interview](=) [Sean & Mari interview]() Sean and his whole team at Think Media are very bullish on Facebook! And now the 'next big opportunity for content creators' is ... enabling Professional Mode on your personal profile and cranking out lots of Reels! Sure, this approach is working for many seasoned and aspiring creators out there! For me, striving to be a creator and rely on Meta to monetize my content is not something I'm pursuing. But go for it if it's your jam!! I talk more about creators vs. the other three types of social media business users that I've identified in this recent [article](=). Create up to 4 additional Facebook profiles In July last year, Facebook [announced]( it would start allowing users to [create up to four additional personal profiles]( under the same account. Now, it seems this feature is [rolling out to more users](. Perhaps you've seen it? I'm not sure about you, but one profile is plenty for me! Facebook Business Avatars? Have you noticed Facebook prompting you to create a whole separate avatar for your business Page? Tbh, I can't be bothered going through the whole process a second time... I mean, I suppose they are cute and expressive. You can also create one on Instagram now, as well. I kind of enjoy using the one on my personal FB profile at times... like my fave cat mom one! ha! Basically, this is Meta pushing us to become more and more used to seeing 'cartoon' avatars of ourselves so we'll be more prepared for life in the metaverse. haha! Hop over to the latest post on my [Facebook business page]() to let me know your thoughts on avatars!! [Cat mom!]() Has your Facebook Page changed to NPE now? Rumor has it, ALL Facebook business pages will finally be switched over to the New Pages Experience... you know, where you have the crazy hassle of switching between profile and page(s) a zillion times a day. Ugh. I don't like it one bit. I only just got [pushed over to NPE](=) - I had Facebook switch me over manually as my page seemed to be 'stuck' in Classic Mode. I figured I may as well start getting used to it. I can see how the switching is useful for never accidentally commenting as your personal profile if you don't want to, for example. Or easily commenting as your page. But what's with the jammed up notifications? GRR! Why, oh why, can't Facebook clean up notifications?!? Like put them into categories, chronological order, separate profile from page, or at least give us MUCH more granular control of what we want to see. Sigh. I'll have to have a word with Zuckerberg... again! ;) Okay, my friend, that's all for this issue! I know there are 500 zillion new updates in the world of Meta, Facebook, and all of social media on a regular basis... honestly, I pay attention to some of it, but mostly it's just noise. I'd rather cherry pick only a few pertinent updates for you! Of course, now we're all paying attention to the warp-speed moving world of AI. Again, also a ton of noise... lol. But also some very exciting developments. Sooner or later, Meta will bake generative AI right into Business Suite. You're welcome to reach out anytime. Premier Facebook Marketing Expert Top Social Media Thought Leader Author, The New Relationship Marketing Coauthor, Facebook Marketing: An Hour A Day P.S. On June 1st, I led the final session of my 10-part Social Media Marketing Strategist certification program in partnership with the AWAI for close to 200 participants. It was truly a runaway success and such an honor to lead this comprehensive training. I'll definitely be leading this program again very soon. If you're interested in knowing more, [let me know here](. P.P.S. I've been a bit quiet with my emails and socials for the past couple weeks with my big house move! I'll have my new home office set up by next week. I'm writing this to you from my hotel room in Ashland, Oregon!! I closed escrow on my fab new home last week and moved up here from San Diego, CA (my home of 24 years) on Sunday night!! Now, I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of my furniture. I'm so happy, all my cells are dancing to be in this wonderful new environment. Teehee! My two precious cats, Deli and Theo, are patiently waiting in their 'cat hotel' (local ranch and kennels)... poor wee things, they've been through a lot to get here. I visit them 2x/day at the kennels, play special classical music by Lisa Spector to sooth them, and use drops of Bach flower essence, along with lots of snuggles!! I know my fellow fur baby moms and dads out there can relate. Lol. Here's a pic I just took from my front porch, along with my departing pic at San Diego airport on Sunday. Whee!
