Thank you! 🙏 Greetings and happy summer, {NAME}! 😊 Have you noticed the little Meta AI comment summaries on your Facebook posts? Perhaps you've seen them on other people's posts? Here's an example from one of my own [recent posts](=) talking about the 106°F / 41°C excessive heat ☀️ (with 141 comments): = In case you didn't know, Facebook quietly enabled these AI summaries on your posts without your express permission. (Okay, maybe it's in the teeny tiny print somewhere in Meta's TOS!) After your post gets a certain number* of comments, the AI summary automatically displays. The summary may or may not be accurate/fact-based. It may or may not be useful. 🤔 *It's not clear how many comments you need to activate the AI summary, but I would say it's around 10+. If you prefer to turn this feature OFF, here's what to do on Facebook: - Go to your Settings and Privacy - Settings - Audience and Visibility - Posts - Turn off the toggle next to 'Show comment summaries on posts' These instructions work on either desktop or mobile and will be for your entire Facebook personal account. (In other words, you don't need to adjust the toggle on both desktop or mobile; just one or the other). I'm only seeing these AI comment summaries on personal profiles. Others are reporting they are on business/public Page posts. And in groups. (Meta AI in groups is a whole other beast - you should be able to choose whether to enable or disable that). What are your thoughts? Do you prefer these AI comment summaries switched on or off for your posts? Have you found them helpful on other people's posts? NEWSFLASH: Here's an interesting thought to contemplate. At first, I found the summaries irritating because I didn't ask for them. Then it occurred to me if the AI is set to kick in on posts with numerous comments, maybe - just maybe - leaving the AI comment summary enabled could help with reach? So I've left mine enabled. 3 FREE events with Mari Smith - can you join us? Would you like to join me for these upcoming online talks?
