[If you don’t have time to read the rest right now, will you make a quick contribution to show your support for Marisa with just two months until the Special Election? >>](  Here’s our CA-20 Special Election FAQ:  ❔ When is the Special General Election?  March 19, 2024. If no candidate achieves a majority vote, a Special Runoff Election between the top two vote-getters will be held on May 21, 2024.  ❔ Who are the candidates?  Marisa Wood is the public school teacher and pro-democracy Democrat who’s running to prioritize Central Valley voices in Congress. Marisa is up against McCarthy's hand-picked successor, Vince Fong, who is intent on carrying out McCarthy’s legacy of chaos and neglecting our district.  ❔ What’s on the line?  After decades of neglect from career politicians, the Central Valley needs a compassionate, working-class champion to deliver for us in Congress.  McCarthy’s cronies have no interest in delivering for some of California’s most-neglected communities. Luckily, Marisa is the public school teacher, grandmother, and longtime resident of our district who can get it done.  ❔ How can I check if I’m registered to vote? When is the deadline to register?  You can check your voter registration status at the link [here](. March 4, 2024 is the last day to register to vote in the Special General Election before the conditional voter registration period.  ❔ I received a vote-by-mail ballot. What is the deadline to submit my ballot?  Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by March 19, 2024. Hand-delivered vote-by-mail ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day at any vote center or polling location, drop box, at the office of the elections official, or at any ballot dropoff location.  We know this is a lot of information, but it’s never been more important to Get Out The Vote.  [It’s critical that we get this information to as many voters as possible between now and the Special General Election in just two months. {NAME}, can you chip in today to help us share this message all across our district?]( [CHIP IN NOW]( Thank you, Team Marisa  Marisa Wood is a public school teacher, mother and grandmother, and she has spent her last 20 years serving the Bakersfield Community that she calls home. [Marisa Wood]( Marisa knows that this district – and all of its families – deserve someone fighting for them in Washington, not a career politician who cares about rich donors and fighting partisan battles.
