I do, too. This is really hard, Pops. It’s awful. But we know she’s safe right now. The doctors and nurses are doing everything they can to help her get better. We have to take this one day at a time. If you forget where she is again, please look at your notebook on the table. Everything is written down there…” This is the conversation I’ve had with my dad, usually several times a day, for weeks now. He forgets. I remind him. I hang up, and often, cry. For the past six months, I’ve been at the epicenter of what tens of millions of us go through when one or both of our aging parents are hit by a major health crisis. I share this because we’re at the top of the holiday season. You’re bound to see a LOT more people in grocery stores, as you travel, and as you get together with family and friends. Please be super gentle with yourself and others. 💖 Most of us can never know a fraction of what others are going through. [Most of us can never know a fraction of what others are going through.]( So this holiday season, make this your practice: Notice, affirm, appreciate, and look for the goodness in others. Something as simple as a smile in your eyes, kindness in your voice, or patience in your energetic posture — each of these seemingly small things can work miracles. Maybe the best part? It’s the universal law that states, “Whatever you give to others, you instantly experience yourself.” My hunch is that you’ve been navigating so many challenges, too. Difficult and often heartbreaking things that most other people don’t see. Stay in your heart. Have faith in a higher plan. You’re being held, loved, and guided, whether you realize it or not. Sending you and your family so, so, SO much love this holiday season. 💖 Marie P.S. [Speaking of health… please, please, please watch this MarieTV if you haven’t already.]( There’s truly nothing more important in life. These simple, easy, science-backed shifts can make a big difference to you and your family.
