The moment Josh and I got back from [Portugal,]( my personal life turned upside down. Some significant and terrifying family health emergencies have me in full-on âin the trenchesâ mode. So Iâm doing exactly what we talk about in our [Time Genius program]( â focusing on the basics. Sleep. Food. Exercise. And getting everything thatâs non-essential off my plate. - Canceling plans.
- Reducing my workload.
- Asking for help and support. Josh, my friends, and my team have been a godsend during this time. Iâve been walking around the West Village somewhat zombie-like (getting groceries, walking Kuma, praying, clearing my head), and Iâve bumped into our incredible readers and fans of the show on the street. In those moments, my mind was like, Oh no, Iâve just been crying. I look like shit. I donât want to be a disappointment. Iâm so not myself right now⦠Then another wiser part of me whispered, Relax, Marie. These beautiful people donât give a shit what you look like right now. Just be present. And I gotta say, every interaction has been so healing. Hearing about YOUR growth, the changes youâve made in your life and business â itâs brought so much love and strength to my heart. Look, I know all of us go through difficult times. Itâs one of the countless, universal aspects of our shared humanity. But the past few weeks have reminded me just how much kindness really matters. Compassion matters. Expressions of genuine love and appreciation and presence really matter. No matter who you are or what you do, your HEART has the ability to heal others. Your willingness to simply see another human â itâs a miracle that should never be discounted or underestimated.
