Once you banish this belief, your creativity will skyrocket! {NAME} — let’s talk about something SO many creatives struggle with… The idea… no, the devastating LIE that your dreams don’t matter. If you ever feel selfish for wanting more, let’s banish that belief right now, once and for all. [If you ever feel selfish for wanting more, let’s banish that belief right now, once and for all.] Your dreams DO matter. And you ALREADY have what it takes to achieve them. But don’t just take my word for it. You’re about to hear from one of the most incredible women I’ve ever met: Dr. Tererai Trent. She’s a true inspiration and an unstoppable force for good. In this second installment of our Love Letters series, she’ll help you see that no matter what batons your family or culture pass on to you, YOU get to choose which ones you carry forward. You get to choose YOUR life over the one expected of you. Listen now on [Spotify]( or [Apple Podcasts](. I hope some wisdom from Tererai wakes up your dreams, like it did for Carla: - While listening during my drive into work, I couldn’t help but experience these flash moments of deja vu as I myself was beginning to remember who I am. Too often I get confused by the chatterbox inside instead of standing with the faith and certainty that my desires are worthy, and even more, I already have all that I desire inside of me, just like Dr. Tererai. I am honestly walking into this day now with a completely new sense of purpose. And helps you break out of “survival mode” so you can feel inspired again, like Kimberly: - I have buried so many dreams because I’ve had to focus on survival for nearly a decade. I have been so scared to dream again. I lost my faith. I lost my spark. I lost my desire. I lost myself. Ambivalence is terrifying to me. It is an overwhelming feeling of despair to be alive and not care enough to live beyond the tasks of day to day survival. I am weeping tears of joy and gratitude as I remember those forgotten dreams. Dreams of what I truly love and dreams of how I want to serve. Thank you Tererai. Thank you Marie. I have wanted to sign up for B-School for 10 years. I finally did it. I’m rooting for you, {NAME}. Because the world really does need that special gift that only you have. I’ll catch you next week with another episode of Love Letters to our Creatives. Until then, thank you for being part of my world. Your time and attention is a gift — one I don’t ever take for granted. All my love, 💕 Marie P.S. If you can relate with Kimberly’s comment above — where you’re overwhelmed and overstretched simply managing your day-to-day demands — it’s time to break free.
