I'm leaving Overwhelm City — who's coming? ☀️ 🏖️ Who says summer break is

I'm leaving Overwhelm City — who's coming? ☀️ 🏖️ Who says summer break is just for school kids? When it’s your life and business, {NAME}, YOU make the rules. [NO meetings, NO Slack, NO email — absolutely NO work allowed for the next two weeks.] This week and next, Team Forleo and I are on our annual company summer break. That means NO meetings, NO Slack, NO email — absolutely NO work allowed for the next two weeks. [This MarieTV explains why we do it]( (and how it all started with a croissant craving years ago...) That first year, it was SCARY to shut down for a full two weeks. I had the same feelings as you: - Guilt over taking time off and not being available 24/7 - Fear that I’d miss an opportunity or let down a client - Stress about having to “make-up for lost time” later - Self-doubt that taking time off meant I was lazy or uncommitted But here’s the thing… If we want anything to change — within our lives, our businesses, or our society — we have to take action and lead the way. I thought shutting my business down for extended periods would be impossible. But closing twice a year has skyrocketed our success, creativity, and stamina as a team. If you’ve been feeling overworked, spread thin, or worn out, here’s what I want you to do: Question EVERYTHING you think you have to do. Do you really have to be on Twitter, especially if you don’t like it? Do you have to work on Mondays? Do you even have to wear underwear?  Maybe closing up shop for two full weeks isn’t possible for you right now. But I want you to start asking yourself… What is? Read these inspiring comments to see what can happen when you challenge your assumptions: Belinda and her husband took their first vacation in 20 years!!! [Belinda and her husband took their first vacation in 20 years!!!] Maegan carved out quality time with her mom at lunch. [Sedruola committed to designing a business and life she loves.] What’s one small way you can take a step back from overdoing it today, this week, or this year? Even if it’s just turning your phone off at dinnertime. Remember, {NAME}, YOU get to write the rules in your business and your life. Great things happen when you unplug from tech and plug into real life. All my SUMMER BREAK love, ☀️ Marie P.S. You know what pairs nicely with a lawn chair and a glass of lemonade? A good podcast!
