Turns out I had a massive tumor, some smaller ones, and a host of cysts. My dearest {NAME}, A few weeks ago, I was on FaceTime with my best friend, Kris. During our chat I winced, grabbed my stomach, and said, “OW!” “WHAT was that?!?! What just happened?” she said. “Oh, it’s nothing. Just had some pain in my abdomen. It’s been happening on and off for a bit. I’m probably eating something I shouldn’t.” “Nice try, Marie. You’re getting an ultrasound ASAP. This is *not* a negotiation.” Within the week, I had appointments set for bloodwork, a mammogram, and an ultrasound. The bloodwork was off to the labs, and the mammogram came back clear. Next, it was the ultrasound. For the first few minutes, everything looked good. But while I lay on the table, the doc said, “Whoa — HELLO! Of course you’re in pain. You have a tumor the size of a grapefruit growing outside your uterus! Look...” She showed me the screen. “We need you to get to the gynecologist, now.” Turns out the tumor was so big it was pressing against all my other internal organs, causing all kinds of issues. They also found a host of smaller tumors and cysts.  I’m now in recovery after an urgent hysterectomy. Ovaries remain, but the pain-inducing problems are gone.  [I'm recovering safely at home and feeling stronger everyday.] As you might imagine, it’s not an easy or quick surgery to heal from.  But I’m safe at home and feeling a bit stronger each day. Patience is the biggest muscle I’m flexing at the moment. As we head into the holiday season… Please support yourself and those you love to listen to your body and take care of your health. Yes, I know we’re in a surging global pandemic. I also know how challenging it can be to navigate the medical system with everything else you’re juggling. But YOU matter, {NAME}. Seriously. When your body sends signals that something is “off,” please listen. There’s nothing more critical than your health and well-being. The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster (not a surprise, since #2020) but I could not be more grateful for Kris, my family, friends, team of doctors and nurses, and you — [our community](. Whether you’ve been dealing with loss, grief, trauma, illness, or simply finding a way to navigate the unending stress stack of 2020, please know you’re not alone. 🤫psssst… it’s Marian from Team Forleo. Marie doesn’t know I’m writing this. We’re collecting well-wishes from folks while she recovers from surgery. [If you want to leave her a note, click here.]( We’ll be compiling everything and sharing it with her next week. Thank you so much in advance! I’m right by your side, in strength and solidarity. We got this.   With all my love 💗, Marie P.S. Before my unexpected surgery, we already had a few MarieTV episodes lined up, and, looking back on them now, they all have one thing in common — remaining steadfast in face of setbacks.
