Still waay overpriced. It’s a total gut job. Do we need more cucumbers?” 🥒 That’s pretty much how Josh and I roll through the West Village, our NYC neighborhood. While running errands, he’ll notice a ‘for sale’ sign and I can’t help myself — I need to report everything I know about the property we’re walking past. → “That one’s been on the market for almost three years now! WTF?! You think it’s haunted!?” → “Did you know there’s a secret tunnel in the basement? YUP, it was built in 1894 — used to be an old smokehouse.” → “Oh, THAT one! Guess what… there’s a separate carriage house behind the main structure and a friggin’ PLUNGE pool! But the taxes are insane. Not worth it.” You see, {NAME}… While other people torch hours on TikTok, YouTube, or the ‘gram, you’ll find me cruisin’ Street Easy (for non-New Yorkers, think Zillow or Realtor.com). Why? Because I have a secret obsession with real estate and interior design. 1stDibs — I can’t even!!! Plasters, hand-painted wallpaper, vintage textiles, just-right Etsy vessels, marble, mid-century lighting from Italy, $5 estate sale finds, a well-placed hook, reclaimed tiles, Arch Digest… I SWOON! Over the years, I’ve learned how much I not only value beauty, but VIBE. I also believe that it’s VITAL for creative souls like you and me to surround ourselves with things that bring us a sense of wonder, delight, joy, and inspiration. It doesn’t matter your taste, location, or budget — when you cultivate a home environment that nurtures your soul, you WILL create with more joy and perform better! For what feels like forever (3+ years), Josh and I have been working on the renovation of our small, very old home outside the city. We’ve had it forever and love its weird, funky, tree-house feel. But at one point we were like, “DUDE! We need a bathroom upstairs!!! One of us is going to EAT IT trying to go down these tiny little attic-like stairs to pee in the middle of the night!” 😵🤕😆 So what began with a desire to not kill ourselves in the dark turned into a WHOLE house remodel where we took this beautiful little gem down to the studs, retained her old-world charm, and very carefully had her recrafted to better suit who we are now and into the future. [Josh and I have been working on the renovation of our small, very old home outside the city.]( I’ll save the rollercoaster reno stories for another time… 🤯🤯🤯 But suffice it to say, we’re FINALLY back in our beloved home. It’s beyond anything I could’ve ever imagined. For the first time in my adult life, I’m living in the exact vision of design beauty I’ve dreamed of for so long. Our home reflects the creativity, heart, craftsmanship, and quirkiness that Josh and I have dreamed of and talked about for years. [I’m living in the exact vision of design beauty I’ve dreamed of for so long.]( Want to hear something wild? No joke — as this project is winding to a close, I’ve seen my focus, creativity, energy, and INSPIRATION soar. Partially because rebuilding an old house to exacting standards is a FRIGGIN’ JOB 🙈🙈🙈 #decisionfatigueonsteriods! But seriously, there’s been a cosmic alignment in this whole uplevel. In my heart, I believe this new burst of beauty energy is related to my big announcement coming next week. (Stay tuned for that!) What about you, {NAME}? If you could create your DREAM environment (home/office/both), what would that look and feel like? Where would you live? Where would you work? How would you decorate? What kind of light and textures and music and art would surround you? What would you see out of your windows? What materials or styles are your faves? How might an even more beautiful-to-you environment impact how you feel, focus, and create? Hit reply and tell me everything. xo Marie P.S. Do you ever have fun twirling around the online real estate world or hitting up vintage shops and yard sales — or is just me? 😜   If you wish to stop receiving our emails or change your subscription, you can [update your preferences]( or [unsubscribe here]( or you can email your request to info@marieforleo.com.
