[{NAME}, tonight we have to close the books on our April grassroots fundraising.]( But don't worry, here’s a quick review before this month's group project is due. The fate of the House majority is currently a toss-up. Political experts agree, we’ve got to flip NY-22 blue to take back the House for Democrats this November. + Our MAGA extremist opponent Brandon Williams is officially the most vulnerable member of Congress. (Probably because he spent his first year in office grandstanding against so-called “progressive fantasies” while voting to let politicians to ban abortion, lay off thousands of our teachers, and cut healthcare for thousands of our veterans.) + Communicating with voters is expensive, so even though the Primary Election polls show us with an early lead, we’ll need to spend a lot of the money we’ve raised so far to win our June 25 primary. Meanwhile Brandon Williams and the National Republicans who have pledged to go all in to protect his seat can continue to build his war chest. + As one of the most closely watched races in the country, everyone is looking for 2 things in our fundraising numbers: The total amount we raise matters, but the number of donations makes a difference too. Because that represents the number of people who want to replace Williams with a proven fighter for abortion rights, strong public schools, and working families. [So if you’re with us, I’m asking you to contribute $22 or whatever you can to help meet our end-of-April grassroots fundraising goal so we can flip NY-22 and take back the House.]( If you’ve stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately. Prior to his election to the State Senate in 2020, John worked as a public school teacher for three decades and advocated for teachers and students as president of the West Genesee Teachers’ Association. John and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Geddes. They have three children: two in college and one recently graduated.
