[The Long Run PAC] {NAME}, Yesterday, far-right extremist Matt Gaetz and his allies forced a House vote to remove Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership. In an unprecedented step, all 208 House Democrats and 8 Republicans voted to remove Kevin McCarthy from his position. This is a confusing time, {NAME}. While Democrats stand united, the GOP continues to stir chaos instead of working for their constituents. But House Democrats made the right decision yesterday. They voted to remove a speaker who was hours away from causing a government shutdown, risking the benefits so many need to survive, leaving military families and federal employees without paychecks, and causing an economic crisis. McCarthy proved that he was not fit to be Speaker. He prioritized his own interests and refused to stay true to his word. Now, we are not sure who will become the next speaker, and I won’t attempt to predict what the MAGA House Republicans will do. But what is crystal clear is that Republicans have proven they are irresponsible. They refuse to govern. So, {NAME}, as we approach 2024, our goal is simple — to unseat every Republican we can and take back the House majority. The American people deserve a Speaker who will bring impactful legislation to the floor, govern with fairness, and not put politics over people. We have already endorsed 3 House challengers — Will Rollins, Sarah Klee Hood, and Josh Riley. They are our best shot at picking up seats and will help us take back the House majority. But they are going to need our support, so I need to ask: [Can you please make a $3 contribution to our movement to elect changemaking Democrats to the House and take back the House majority?]( This fight is much bigger than a single candidate. It is a fight to give the American people the government we deserve. Thank you in advance for your contribution. Mandela [CONTRIBUTE]( This email was sent to [{EMAIL}](#).
