Yesterday I announced that I'm running for U.S. Senate because it’s time for Wisconsin to do big and bold things once again. [Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin] [Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin]( {NAME} - In just a minute, I'm going to ask you to make a $3 contribution to our campaign for U.S. Senate. But first, I hope you'll give me a chance to explain why your contribution is so important – especially today. Yesterday I announced that I'm running for U.S. Senate because it’s time to change the game. Hard work isn’t paying off like it used to, and people are working longer hours for less money. When I was growing up, my father worked on an assembly line at General Motors and my mother was a public school teacher in Milwaukee. They were able to provide us with a middle class life. But too often, that isn’t the case anymore in Wisconsin and across the country. During the past several years, I have been working hard to expand opportunity in Wisconsin. But politicians like Ron Johnson are holding our state back from reaching its full potential. Working families deserve the opportunity to get a job that pays the bills and allows them to live with dignity. They deserve a quality education, health care as a basic human right, clean water and clean air, and the right to make their voice heard at the ballot box. That is what I'll fight for in the U.S. Senate, but the truth is that it can't just be up to me. It's going to require all of us to build the future that we know is possible. Unlike Ron Johnson and other candidates in this race, I’m not taking any corporate PAC money, and I can’t self-fund. So today I'm counting on a lot of donations to start this campaign off strong and put us in a position to win this race, which is why I need to ask: [Can you make a $3 contribution to our campaign for U.S. Senate? It's so important that we start strong.]( For my whole career, I've been fighting to level the playing field for everyday people in Wisconsin. As an organizer in Milwaukee, as a state legislator, and now as lieutenant governor, I’ve taken on inequality and fought for equal opportunity. If we work together and organize, we can create opportunity for everyone. We can create jobs that are more than just a paycheck and provide health care that is affordable and accessible for all. We can address the climate crisis while lifting up our communities. We can build a future for Wisconsin where the doors of opportunity are wide open, for anyone with a dream and the passion to follow it. We can do all of this — if we do it together. This is the very beginning of that journey, and now I am asking you to contribute to say you will be a part of it. [Contribute $3 to become a Founding Donor of our campaign for U.S. Senate. Every donation makes a huge difference – especially the one you make today.]( I believe that together we can rise up and make a difference by building a movement that channels Wisconsin’s legacy as the birthplace of the labor movement and the progressive movement. Thank you for adding your contribution today. I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together. All my best, Mandela Barnes [CONTRIBUTE]( Paid for by Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin This email was sent to [{EMAIL}](#). Email is a very important way we communicate with supporters like you.
